I am still not receiving email replies to comments I make on news and videos. Was this supposed to be fixed? Gamespot is not blocked as far as I can tell and the emails are not automatically junked. I got them earlier this year (post web site change), but suddenly they stopped in mid January.
amdreallyfast's forum posts
I didn't notice it until just recently, but a couple weeks ago I suddenly stopped receiving updates from Gamespot for newsletters and when people replied to me in chat for a video or article. I didn't change any settings, and Gamespot is not blocked from email.
How can this be fixed?

Star Wars The Old Republic. I was blown away by that trailer. Sadly the actual game did nothing for me.
I forgot about those. The original trailer was pretty cool, but unfortunately I started to loose interest fast, especially in the second trailer, once they started recycling music. And the game did nothing for me either. Too much recycled music. The music from the movies is great, but it was made for the movies. I don't think that any amount of clever editing and fading cuts of movie music together will make it fit something that isn't the movies. I like it when a soundtrack takes influence from the movies, such as in KOTOR, but not when they recycle it wholesale.
Cool trailers though.
@Planeforger:
I would disagree about DA: O's lore. Those long lore dumps were some of the more interesting things to me. They were not presented in an exciting way, but instead like something that simply was and that was expected. I liked the racial and cast inequality undertones, and how deep some of the lore seemed to go. The creation of golems and darkspawn, for example, were particularly unsettling. They were not in your face, but that was some great lore for me.
I don't want any particular thing mostly, but I had to choose, I would lean in favor of music and story over gameplay and visual proficiency. In general, I want a good adventure.
Music is essential to my adventure experience, and although I don't particularly care about the musical genre, I generally tend to frown upon popular songs being used in the soundtrack (like FFXIII). I am more restrictive on battle music ever since I played FFXIII, and now I really want my battle themes to have a proper base line (FF6 and Golden Sun were excellent themes). I'm picky now :). And I really like an adventurous overworld theme (again, see FF6 and Golden Sun).
By "story", I am referring to the script and the world and how it is delivered so that my imagination can go into that world. Thus, proper voice acting is a must (Vanille was almost singlehandedly responsible for killing my FFXIII experience; there were other things, but she really sealed my displeasure). When text is used instead of voice acting, the text boxes need to properly convey the speaker and their emotions (this can easily go wrong without the proper identifiers), so I like it when I have seen a character's current facial expression as an overlay to the text box. And a decent camera so I can see crap. I am disappointed if I can't see it.
So yeah, i kind of want everything :). And in Xenogears for PS1 and Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, I got everything.
I've seen a lot of video game trailers over the past decade since I emerged from dial-up, and I've liked most of them, but then I started thinking about the trailers that I liked so much that I watched them over and over. Trailers that were so good that they cemented my love for the game before it was even released. When I took that into account, the number of trailers that came to mind dropped dramatically. Here are my three:
- Super Smash Bros Melee: My brother and I and some friends watched this trailer at least once per day during the summer, and less often but still quite a bit in the following autumn, leading up to the November release:

- Mass Effect 2 launch trailer (Heart of Courage trailer): This trailer cemented the Heart of Courage music into my head, and in addition was so awesome that I can't find any other words to appropriately describe it. The ME3 trailers were good, but not this good:

- Final Fantasy Versus XIII original trailer: I know it is now officially FFXV, but when this trailer was released in 2006, it was for FF Versus XIII, and everyone is still waiting for this game. While it doesn't reveal much about the story or characters or settings, we know that there is this guy who takes the honey badger approach to bullets and disciplines severely when people trespass on his patio. Plus the music is great:

So what about you? I'm looking, not for favorite trailers, but trailers that were so brilliant, so stupendous, so amazing that you watched them over and over and loved the game before it even came out. Please disregard effects of growing older and getting a job and family and any reason :). What trailers are marked in stone in your memory as awesome?
I added an image to both profile picture options, but I'm still getting the default image when I post in the chat below a video or article. Is there a third profile image option?
Note: my profile avatar shows up in forums, but not the chat
Perdiodically, I post a question and someoen responds. I get a notification through email that someone has responded, and a link is provided to "go to comment". My problem is that the link just takes me to the webpage that contains the article on which I commented, and does not take me to my comment. I can search for a long time and never find it. Is there a way to jump directly to my comments without having to manually search for them?
