"The production values are great, the performances excellent, the action freakin' awesome"

Did we watch the same series? Let's not have a season 2 of this trainwreck. I would say it can't go worse than this, but having seen what I've seen, I would say it can. SO let's stop at season 1, forget about it as if it was a bad dream and move on.

I guess George needs money, this goes along with the vodafone commercials with Yoda unlocking phones. Ignore this rubbish for god's sake. (well ignore episodes 1,2,3 and everything that came after)

This is awesome! BUT.... apart from the technical issues that might arise... Did anyone noticed that there might be some LEGAL problems as well? I'm pretty sure there might be some interesting caveats both in Windows EULA and some games EULAs as well that might prevent anything like this from happening. I can't imagine NVIDIA and AMD and especially Microsoft being happy with anything like this as well. Playing directX games on a Mac without paying for a genuine Windows licence? NO WAY. I can see a storm coming on the poor onlive guys...

So far, nothing is really screaming "update update!" for me. After three months being trapped in a windows vista nightmare, I just managed to install XP Sp3 on my brand new lapto. And no way I'm gonna go back to the Vista thing. Or anything based on the vista thing, for that matter. Therefore: I'll wait and see.

Screw DX10 and Vista. I'll stay with XP and dx9 for the for the time being. At least till somebody (being microsoft, Apple, or the open source community) give us an Operating Sysem worth upgrading to. (ok some might say that moving to linux or Apple is already some sort of update, but hey, we still lack DirectX support... and at least for a lot of games that's needed....)

Guys wake up, the differences between 9.0 and 10 are memory-bound. Not visually. This means that you won't see any difference (visually) between a 9 and 10 game, but future 10 games will have more complexity due to the more memory availability. Provided that game developers decide to use that memory availability. Actually it's yet to be seen if they need that, instead of bigger cards with larger framebuffers. And again, to those talking about the flightsim X screens they saw... THEY WERE FAKE!!!!! (well they were "proof of concepts", which in the end it means they weren't ingame shots but photoshop or 3d prerendered stuff anyway.) Anyway, NO WAY I'll ever get Vista, therefore even if I'll buy a 8800, I'll stuck with 9.0c for quite some time.

"I will admit the graphic comparisons are not that diffrerent, but it depends on what resolution you are playing it at." That of course depends on what are you comparing: compare the current HALO2 build for PC with the Xbox version and you'll say that it looks better. Compare this thing to STALKER, ALPHA PRIME, or even the old guys (Oblivion, HL2, or DOOM3) and you're gonna scratch your head. Doesn't make any sense to release such a game. Sure, as I stated before, Graphics is not all that it takes, but then again, why create an article about it if it simply sucks? As for Vista, you're right saying that Microsoft is trying the right moves in order to push Vista down our throats, question is will it succeed?

I dunno. Talking graphics only, this game simply isn't on par with current generation PC games. Sure the usual Halo formula in playability should score an homerun, but again current PC games are not that far behind. Therefore, IMHO, this game it's too little too late. As for Vista, NO WAY! I got it on a new laptop with bells and whistles and after working on it for almost a week I reformatted and put XP instead. Definitely not worth the hassle (even when it's free).

4 me: Vista will come (possibly) with a new rig in a OEM version. Nonsense installing it on my current Pcs, even highends: Definitely not worth the price. As for the DX10 thing: I really wonder how much is hype and how much reality. Most of the DX10 screens I've seen were just "simulated" or DX9, Crysis included. Even the screens in the article look a bit strange to me. The DX9.0 screens looks like a dx8 while the supposed dx10 is fairly similar to current generation Dx9 titles. I don't want to believe the Microsoft media machine is downplaying DX9.0 just to make dx10 shine. Anyway I'll wait.

Call me strange but I'm happy. I believe the less money is spent in these events the more is left for developement. Sure we still have to see wether this is good for a game or not (a lot of cash doesn't necessarely create a better game) but in the end I believe the industry should focus more on games and less on babes and shiny stands. Of course there's a lot of downsides, being probably that the media guys (YOU arh arh arh) would have to work harder and harder in order to cover the most far and little developers but I believe it's definitely necessary. Anyway we'll se how it turns out. I honestly believe a lot in the "power" of internet and I only see the bright side when such real life events are shut down in favor to internet based campaigns.
