Yeah of course you can get addicted, but its only mental and not physical, so its simple enough to stop when you see that you have problems (assuming you can tell when that is!), whereas a addiction to e.g. smoking or alcohol is both physical and mental, in that you body craves the chemicals.

The only thing going cold turkey on video games might cause is a crave for fun, and that can be found in many more ways than in computer games.....
