I'm not dead

Hey all...yes I vanished but I didn't die and I'm considering making the effort to come back if theres still anyone on here since I've been away....

That whole having a baby thing didn't happen...not my choice but don't worry I'm ok about it

I got a new job....in South Korea...so I live and work there now.

It's the short version but that't what im up to

Been a while since anyone heard from me eh...but I have big news

Well wats new..I have a PS3 but since I finished resistence and noting else worth having (that isnt already on the 360) its pretty much sat idle, hmmm so what else is new, job is going ok, and by the way Im having a baby well not personally my girlfriend is doing that part...so im officially a grown up now, hooray

Im finally out of the game industry

Hey there...Well ive finally left game which means im out of the game industry and out of retail once and for all.

Im a recruitment agent now by which it means ill still be working with people and getting them jobs.  To be fair im really looking forward to having a job i don't already know inside and out...and now im not staring at them for several hours a day I might be finally be able to get excited about and enjoy my games again.

Fresh PS3 news (im finally excited)

Hello here...hot enough for ya? It certainly is over here im pretty sure im slowly melting.

Anyhow the Sony rep came to visit our store today and well what did I see lets begin.

Well we started with the PSP he had demo versions of the new Syphon Filter looks pretty sweet and Gangs of London by the team that gave us the getaway actually looked and played better than its PS2 predecessors...best of the bunch though was deffinately Tekken: Dark Ressurection, the visuals are awesome, frame rate solid, the roster is huge even Roger and Alex make the cut, im officially looking forward to that one now.

Right on to the PS3 news I have...it's all very exciting stuff, word that the rep gave us is that the cost of the first wave of games should be in line with 360 prices hitting £50 max since they wont need to run on blu-ray discs. Then when Blu ray is intended to really come into play around this time next year hopefully by this time production costs will have lowered and thus the price should hit £60 max or with any luck be able to stick at £50, he also mentioned the functionality of being able to convert PS1 games to copy onto your PSP memory stick (should be an interesting feature). When speaking about Blu-ray games he noted that it had been mentioned collections such as the entire Final Fantasy back catalogue 1-10 AND both movies would happily live on one Blu-ray disc so by the inclusion of big packages like this consumers will be able to see the volume of product they are getting for their money and thus not mind the larger price tag.

Then we discussed my greatest concern...Launch titles. I had initially heard 15...but knew I could write off half of those as the yearly EA fodder...Fifa..Madden...NHL...NBA...and so on plus the likes of Sonic and other multi format games that would also be on 360 anyhow. But according too our rep from what information he gained at this meeting there are plenty of plans for some real killer titles in time for launch, namely:

* Eye of Judgement : the bizarre eyetoy / card game I think this periferral has a lot of potential especially if it ends up being worked on by a licenced card game like Magic, or Yugioh...lots of potential indeed.

* Resistance: Fall of man

and now at this point he did note that nothing was certain yet but a lot of money was being plowed into some companies in an effort to secure the following 2 awesome titles for launch day.

* Devil May Cry : Very little seen so far roll on Tokyo Game show and fingers crossed

and the biggie

*Metal Gear Solid 4: Again dont shoot the messenger this is what he said to me and he did say it wasnt certain, but word is that Sony are sending lots of money Konami's way in an effort to have snakes final outing ready for launch or at least sooner than the initial plans for easter 07.

So all in all I had a good day at work..as a bonus I've also got my foot in the door towards getting a new job too..plenty of you now may be thinking hang on did you just spend today at work playing new games and getting sweet PS3 news, why do you want to leave?

Well yes I did have a lovely day BUT if im to afford all these great items im going to need to start earning lots more money, im sick of being poor.

Download ROCKS...Football ROLLS

Well im back after a really heavy weekend at download...for those of you that don't know it was a weekend music festival, we camped over and saw some great bands including...

Viking Skull, Lordi, Skindred, The Prodigy, Guns N Roses, Funeral for a friend, Bullet for my Valentine, Lacuna Coil, In Flames, Dragonforce, Metallica , Korn, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, All American Rejects, Soil and lots lots more.

On top of that had a lovely few days catching the sunshine and drinking some lovely vodka

PLUS the world cup has kicked off...weve had one game so far England vs Paraguay and we won 1-0 so its all good so far next game is vs Trinidad and Tobago on thursday, bring it on. I love the world cup.

Everyone loves a sidekick

I've just completed Daxter on my PSP after a few full on days on it and I really enjoyed it...I really like a good bit of platforming from time to time...luckily Ape Escape 3 is out tomorrow and that shall fill the void daxter has left behind.

Anyhow Daxter finally got my notoriously under-used psp some attention...I shall review it soon no doubt

I'm Poisoned

No cleverly deceptive titles here...I really am suffering from the effects of poison and thus have spent the last 18 or so hours being very sick, thus if any if you have any blue herbs knocking about they will be happily recieved.

V for Vendetta

And also V for very good...its thought provoking...stylish and all in all a top quality film.

A friend of mine is now convinced they should show the movie in schools to teach us the danger of political extreemism and how cool Guy Fawkes is.

As for me I after this I might even forgive the Wachowski brothers for the 2nd and 3rd matrix movie.

Only donwside being that like a lot of big movies they forget not all of us from England live in London...were not all either posh or cockneys but that minor issue aside great movie go see it.

Drinking, Punching, Shooting and Hills with eyes.

Well another weekend over and it's been another busy one of fun and debauchery but on the game front....

Well I relented and rid myself of Joanna Dark having decided I'll never finish it and it does my head in...anyhow now im in possesion of new collection additions Fight Night Round 3 and Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter, and they are both great games...more details heading you're way once I play them.

Tonight I also went to see the remake of the hills have eyes and was treated to one of the nasitiest gore filled intense visceral movies i've seen for some time...I've never seen the original of the movie so can't comment on it's merits as a remake of a classic horror movie, but as a stand alone title I really enjoyed it...so get down to the movies damn you....DADDY! (see the movie and you'll understand the relevence of daddy lol.)
