I'm no expert but just bought a new series3 Sony bravia last friday, set it at 1080sp and hooked up the HDMI cables. What a huge difference to the HD TV connection cables to the Samsung LCD Tv set up. Same console (elite) but what a diference. The graphics in general are much sharper and the colours much more vivid. The aiming recepticle is now a vivid red, the blues are also almost neon like now. Maybe I had the samsung on the wrong setting but the cable guy set it up.
Ok, Had a go on GOW 2 tonight and apart from the the overall artwork and graphics being much clearer and defined the main difference I notice is that the blues, reds and greens are very vibrant, almost neon like. The aiming recepticle is a lot brighter red as is the blood splatter whilst doing the deeds etc. Have you others found the same. Its like night and day at my place. I have set the new tv at the HD 1080p setting.
My Elite console lost its video two days ago. After looking at a few of these forums, I am sure I have fried the video chip. What I would like to ask you guys is could changing from HD TV cables to HDMI be the reason that my video fried(everything went green then no video). What I diid was move my console from its HD TV set up with a Samsung HD TV (has worked fine for 7 mnths) to its new set up in my office. Sony Bravia TV with the HDMI cable that came with the console. I am hoping it was just a coincedence. Has anyone heard of the cable upgrade causing problems with the video. I was playing Halo Wars at the time
