actually, no, it is not opinions.
English is the language of commerce, and travel for that matter considering most countries decide to learn Enlish as a second language, and their neighbor's as their third.
French is the language of politics, both traditionally and currently
The usefulness of other languages is determined by their relevance and the person; right now if youre a soldier I imagine Farsi (is that the name? Its the language many Arab countries speak...) is good, if youre in trade I imagine Chinese or Japanese is good, etc.
For the average man, they wouldnt need french for politics. Spanish is the second most usefull in the us and for traveling.ummm can we talk about french not spanish??
