Well WC3 is much newer and has a much bigger online population. Both great RTS games but WC3 is better for online play until SC2 comes out. Check out wcreplays.com for community news.
I think WC3 is all around the greatest game of all time and I've been an avid pc gamer since 1984. A lot of people don't like it because online play requires a lot of micro and fast APM but if you love competitive online play it's a must have.
Out of the one's you listed Starcaft, but there are a lot of other great ones. Starcraft isn't overrated you moron your probably too young to have even played it.
