I was a little disapointed with not being able to do certain actions in TP that I thought would add challenge and variety to the game. In situations where link's arms aren't being used, he should be able to use his bow, such as when running or riding the spinner. I always thought that the boss to the destert region in TP would be sooooo much better if we had to shoot certain parts of him, then spin at him, then slash him when he goes down. They need to just flesh out the items so they have multiple purposes, and add crazy combinations such as iron boots + spinner = magnetic spinner, or being able to use one hook/claw shot with the sword or another one handed item like the megaton hammer. Puzzle complexity could be amaizing, like having to hook/claw shot to a point, stick to the wall with the iron boots, shoot a target to open a door with the bow, and then glide down to safety with a magic leaf or parachute item.

Aside from that, I want it to have dificulty settings because the puzzles are always fun and chalenging, but the combat has been stale for many games now.

Just go play fable or any of the other games out there that let you be an evil character. Link is who he is, a boy/man who represents goodness in a world consumed by darkness. Perish the thought that Link wont be able to slap a kokiri chick if she doesn't hand over the rupees...

Your point about a more mature Zelda is valid, but it can't be Link. Nintendo always makes a darker half of their good (somewhat childish), characters i.e. Wario to Mario. We already know Link's darker half from Majora's Mask, Fierce Deity. They should just make a game with him as the protagonist. Or... If you really want to hold on to your idea of good and bad in the same game, they could have a game where Link has the Fierce Deity Mask (or Fierce Deity's spirit in him) and can't control his other half, adding aspects of remorse on Link's part for the actions of his counterpart. That actually sounds kinda cool:P... But no senseless violence; it has no place in Zelda games.

All I really want in the next one is difficulty settings. I get sick and tired of using three heart runs as a way to challenge myself in every Zelda game.

What I really want is the next game in the Occarina of Time/Majora's Mask series, that being the first Zelda I ever played fully through. The next Game in that series would be sweet, implementing mask use with different motion controls for each form. Plus it would be Occarina of time Link when he's grown up, as well as a fairy partner, not just a fairy pointer.

Okay. Problem solved.

Pokémon Snap also needs more cowbell.

LordAndrew
Dear Lord Andrew,
Wow that just made my day. I read the both posts and got a giggle here and there, but more cowbell, perfect reference. Couldn't agree more. Nintendo has three criteria for the next Pokemon Snap. 1. More safari 2. Less track. 3. More cowbell, because that's what Mr. Walken wants and whatever Chritopher Walken wants, Christopher Walken gets. Also, that would be the sweetest motion sensing use ever. Swing the Nunchuk from side to side to swing your cowbell. If you stopped swinging for a while, Chrostopher Walken would jump out and tell you to start it up again because he's got a fever with only one prescription. Thanks again for your pop culture knowledge and for being born. You can thank your parents for that one too.

I thought of another one. Psychonauts. Just improve the powers a bit and have a psyche editor where you can make your own brains and share them on-line with people who can try to accomplish the goals you set up. It would be so amazing controlling your rolling ball with the nunchuck and swinging your hands to throw a punch. It's a perfect fit.

Marshmallow world. Near the poles the marshmallows are frozen and hard, in between the poles and the equator is soft and bouncy, around the equator is melty and sort of like quicksand. But with realtime weather and climate effects, different marshmallow "climate changes" would take place as you go through it, causing you to be unsure as to which parts will be firm, which parts will be bouncy, and which parts will be quicksandy.ZebethOrZebes
Perfect boss for that level would be the giant Stay Puff Marshmallow Man from Ghostebusters.
I would want a level with tons of black holes that warp you or a rubber world that you can bounce around in.

All the games that I would want remade are made by 2nd party developers for Microsoft so my dreams wont come true, but I would love to see a new Oni for the wii. Such an awesome game. The storyline is the only hard part with the twist at the end of the 1st one. The combat was just so awesome and with a new millennium finish, wow. Too bad the only thing Bungie focuses on is making Halo for Microsoft these days. Also I would want a new JFG game, but rare is too busy doing..... what is rare doing these days except wasting potential. All the games that you guys said would be awesome as well though. My top of those would be starfox, move with nunchuck, aim with wiimote, improve the game when you're out of cockpit and finally, give your wingmen some AI so they can help you for once.

I've wanted Nintend to put seperate difficulties in their games for a long time now. I know that have sperate CCs and Mirror mode in double dash and dificulties in the MP games and sport games, but for games like Mario and Zelda, they're really only moderatly hard the 1st time because I don't know what to expect. I have to resort to 3 heart runs and other choices that I make in order to raise the difficulty myself.

I completely agree with the original post. I have not yet purchasd my next gen system athough it will likely be the wii if I even am a gamer this generation. Nintento seems to think that they can satisfy their older fans with the same franchises. The things that would make me buy the wii would be rayman (1 and 2), MP3, SSBB, and TP.
I personally agree with the original poster on SMG because it does look like it would be fun, but it looks like SM64 in space where your only attack is a spin (I haven't seen a single punch or slide in all the videos). The lack of these attacks makes me wonder if it's they're unwilling to map an attack cue to a button. It seems to me that Nintendo is basically relying on the Wiimote for this generation. Granted ths isn't a bad idea, but it shows a relative inability to be flexible on their part and use all their control functions. I haven't seen a single game worth while that uses the clasic controller except for the clasic arcade.
My predictions for this generation are simple, Nintendo will win, plain and simple, they will sell more consoles because they're expanding the market and selling to new gamers. PS3 is likely going to fail because in a few years it will have its exclusive 3rd party titles being lost completely to Microsoft because it just doesn't have enough of the market to justify the costs assosciated with making a game. Microsoft will be in second, BUT, it will hve the best games because gaming, in my opinion is a new stage in story telling, just as books and songs are. Microsoft's games are made by those who have a story to tell and have the visual capabilities to make that story come to life. Aside from their 1st party games, what games for Nintendo are truely epic. When you look back in a few years, unless my predictins are totally false, Nintendo wil have great games that you'll say were fun to play at the time, and Microsoft will have games that you look back on and remember for how truely spectacular in all aspects they were. There are only so many 1st party sequils and party games that one can take, but there are an infinite number of stories to tell and new franchises to creat, and right now it looks like it'll be Microsoft that will bring you those.
Plus Nintendo just can't seem to figure out what to do to give a full, emersive online experience without constantly having to add on things that their competitors alreeady have. These games that Nintendo is releasing are unable to stand the test of time because 3rd party developers dont know how to make a game that is good without the controls, except madden and COD, mabe others. I mean seriously, Dragon Blaade? It's a button masher with terrible looking bosses, (see water dragon, water dragon my ass. Water dragons are serpents in the mythology that they're adapting.) and yet it gets some hype just because of its controls and people will buy it for the same reason.
Just compare high scores come christmas time and remove the Wii scores that are on virtual console and rehashed cube games to see my point. Nintendo's problems are easy to fix, (better online and more emersive/epic games), but it seems like everyone is expecting them to fix them when there is no sign that they will. I might go to far on some of this, but some of it is also true, and if you can't admit that then your a fan boy and shouldn't be in this thread anyway. Plus, for the record, I want to be wrong. I've played Nintendo games since I was seven.
Sorry for the Length.Forgot aobut SSBB's 4 control options, but it is 1st party. Hopefully others will fallow in suit.
