11.08.07 - Reluctant to startup by blog (im too lazy to keep updating) here goes

Ok so I just got back from my local GameStop. I just got Zelda Phantom Hourglass for the DS, which I've been wanting to get but have been so busy with my 360 to care about my DS or my Wii. I've just barely started my game, so I can't comment yet, but I hope that the reviews are right and it is as amazing as everybody says.

Anyway, at GameStop, there was this old lady who didn't have a clue what to get her 14 year old son for his birthday. She picked up Zelda Twilight Princess and looked at it and said, "the point of the game is to kill people? that's too violent!" And the funny part was the 14 year old has Halo 3, andan XB360, not a Wii or a GC. I knew this because she was in the store with the kid's younger sister who surprisingly knewa littlesomething about games. The grandma also didn't understand the concept of a "game" and thought that the only thing that she could buy was the accessories on the wall. She's like "Do you think he has one of these "controller" thingies?" So she finally decided to get him a gift card when the little girl insisted.

Other than that GameStop also had Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii. I played the first level, and it's awesome. I'm definitely getting either SMG, Mass Effect, or Assassin's Creed (only have the money for one).

Now for the many things that have happened in my gaming world...

CoD 4 has landed! I'm not so sure I'm going to get it just yet, considering I already have CoD 2 and Halo 3 to satisfy my FPS hunger. I played the beta and rly liked it, so I will get it eventually.

All of my 360 games have been fun. Not much to say there. I got Viva Pinata and CoD 2, and despite the look, Viva Pinata is awesome. I already knew CoD 2 would be good, since I've always been a fan of the CoD series.

Wow I haven't posted in my blog in a while...here goes.

Well, I have been in bliss with my 360. I got XBL too. My Gamertag is THEGuitarHero18. I've been playing a lot of Halo 2 online. I also got my hands on a beta code for CoD 4. It's an amazing game. My character is level 7 already. The create-a-class system is rly great.

In Oblivion, my character joined the Dark Brotherhood. Now the game has rly taken off. I've completed the first mission.

I picked up Skate yesterday after playing the demo alot. It's a great game that I still haven't gotten tired of. The controls are rly intuitive.

I sold my PS2 to pay for the rest of my 360, and I also sold Mario Strikers Charged. It WAS a horrible game. I also sold Super Paper Mario, which I'm stuck on and have lost interest in. I also sold Puzzle Quest, a great DS game that like SPM, I got tired of. I also sold Pokemon Pearl, which I just couldn't get into like most people.

I got my 360!!

Today I went out to my local GameStop and picked MY 360!! I got the Pro model plus an extra controller, a controller charger pack, and two games, Oblivion and Halo 2 for the original Xbox.

I'm so excited. I g2g play Oblivion.

Well, I haven't posted in a while for a very good reason. I got banned. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was going against GS rules when I created a topic in the PC forum for my friend's forum-based RPG. Whatever. It was only two days.

Today, I am finally picking up Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I've had it preordered ever since the release date was announced, and yesterday I fully paid off the preorder, so I can just show the clerk my handy-dandy receipt, and I'll be on my way to go play the first of the Big 3. Two days back, I tried out the demo. It was amazing. Probably one of the greatest game I've ever played. I can't believe GS gave it a 8.5. I would have thought it would get AT LEAST a 9.0. IGN gave it a 9.5 and NP gave it an astounding 10/10.

I'm also getting rly into Paper Mario for the Wii VC. It's also one of the best games I've ever played. Thank God for the Virtual Console. I'm so glad I can play some of the games I never got a chance to play (my first ever console was a GC).

Yesterday, I was over at my friend Helmith's house and I played Rainbow Six Vegas with him. It got me even more excited for when I get my 360. My birthday is in about a week, and all I asked for is just money for my 360 savings. I'm hoping that if I save all my money from my birthday and Christmas, I'll have enough.

Now to fill you guys in with my GH II progress...I have recently beaten EVERY SINGLE song on Expert except for Hangar 18 and Free Bird. I can get 85% on Hangar 18, but then I lose.

Well, I got to go. I'm working at my mom's business to make some extra money.

Gaming Blog: 8.25.07 - A Few Things I Left Out

Hey it's me again. I forgot to mention in my last blog post that I QUIT WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!! Yes, I am very proud. I made it to Lv. 41 with a human warrior. After that the game just started to feel like work and wasn't worth it. So I quit, and also inspired my other friend to do so also. I feel very accomplished that I have beaten an addiction like WoW.

In other news, I also am psyched about a certain online text-based forum RPG. I've belonged to three before this, two of which kinda flopped. The new forum, Pact of Shadows, which is a forum RPG where you are an assassin in ancient roman times and belong to various assassin guilds. It looks like a lot of fun. It was made by two of my friends. It opens on Monday. www.z11.invisionfree.com/Pact_of_Shadows.

Well i haven't written in my blog for a while so I thought I might just make a post.

I'm soo totally psyched for Metroid Prime 3, which is coming out in just four more days. I've been reading a lot of the final buzz about the game and it looks like it's going to be awesome.

Today, I got some more Wii Points and bought Super Metroid for the VC. I heard that it's a fantastic game and I've always wanted to play a side-scrolling Metroid game. Right now I'm about 30 minutes into it and find it very fun. I also got Paper Mario on the VC as well, which I've been meaning to buy for a while now but never got around to doing so. It is also very fun.

I've just recently bought Mario Striker Charged and it's a fun game despite what the reviewers say. I haven't dabbled much into the single player, but the online is fun. My FC is 300756 412783. By the way, I'm not that good at the game just yet.

Well that's about it. I'll write again soon.

Saving up for 360

I have been saving up for an Xbox 360 for quite a while now, and I have decided to stop saving up for it right now, as I want to buy it at the right time. I know it just got a price drop (a $50 one at that) and added HDMI (which I can use for my 42" plasma screen HDTV), but I have done some heavy buyer research and have found out that the Premium model w/ the new chipset won't appear on shelves until around the holidays, after the rest of the stock is gone. The Elite will appear on shelves with it around the end of this month, but I don't think 100 GB of extra storage is really neccesary, so therefore the $90 more isn't worth it.

...Also, today I bought Mario Strikers Charged, and despite the many criticisms of the game, I enjoy it.

Frustrated with GH II to the point of smashing the guitar

I got to the next level on Expert in GH today, the one right before the last. I beat all but one, even Carry Me Home, one of my worst songs. Now all I have left is stupid Psychobilly Freakout, which has to be one of the strangest and hardest songs on GH2. I have gotten really close, but the strange beat and really fast lixx always kill me in the end. I must have tried about 50 times (no joke). Then I got so frustrated with the stupid song that I threw the controller on the ground numerous times. Then I did it again and the strap wasn't all the way off my arm so it came flying back at me and hit me in the knee, where I have a new bruise. I guess I got what was coming to me from giving into my anger and rage...

Finally beat Freya on Expert...

Yesterday I plugged in my GH controller and gave Freya on Expert another try, after leaving the game for a good few months. After the third try, I finally finished it. I'm so happy. Now I just have to beat Crazy on You and Rock This Town...

trade-in offer

Yesterday I made double the trade-in value of four DS games after I traded them in at my local GameStop. They had a trade-in two, get $10 more credit. Or in my case, $20 for four games. I traded in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, which I had beaten at summer camp; Metroid Prime: Hunters, which I found to be extremely difficult and frustrating; Meteos, which I had beaten about five times; and Sonic Rush, which I had beaten at summer camp. I also used my edge card to get $5 more credit. My grand total was a whopping $50, which is pretty good considering how old and unvaluable some of the games were. Without the extra credit, I would have only gotten $25.
