I think it's pretty clear that joe dies. Leo Gallante says to Vito "Joe wasn't part of the deal" , which implies that Leo was not able to save Joe and Vito from the angry chinese.

This ending also seems to set up for a sequel remarkably well.

FPS:

1. to not care so much about graphics , gameplay is more important

2. Very intense action like doom3 or brothers in arms

3.not too many role playing fps

4.be fun, not "innovative"
