@risingdawn: It does take the form of a spider briefly in the book, but it's not really a spider, just a form it takes because it's true form cannot be comprehended. I always thought that the deadlights were what people saw when It chose not to take a mimicked form.
@GinsuVictim: I meant Scott, Clint Eastwood's son. Thankee-sai for the catch!
And yes, he is a bit young, but he would have been a good choice if they were going to make many movies. They could have easily made him look older for the beginning movies, and then have him look natural for when they go back in time for younger Roland.
@ZIMdoom: This. If they would have just planned to start with 3 movies that cover the first 2 books, (there was so much going on in The Drawing of the Three, it would need to be 2 movies), this could have been something special. And people would have clamored for more if they did it right, (they really should have gotten Kyle Eastwood to play Roland).
And you are right about the books, not all of them are great. I liked 6 of them very much, thought 3 were OK, and hated one of them completely.
After all these years, I still don't know if I loved or hated the ending. It seemed a bit literal for King.
@gamingdevil800: They were stronger as kids because of the bond they shared, (yes, I understand why they cut out the gangbang situation from the movie, that was in the book), and because they were still young and not completely jaded by the world yet.
When they all come back 30 years later in the book, they have had limited contact with each other throughout the years, blocked out most of what happened to them as kids, and are all mired in their addictions, vices, bullshit, etc. Makes them much more susceptible to It.
@shadowwarrior4: It is not a demon, it is an interdimensional Eldritch. And it's "true" form is incomprehensible, they just used a lame looking spider in the original made for TV movie.
Are you also ignoring all the obvious bugs with this game?
I think if SMS can hammer out all the current issues with patches, then we could be looking at a solid 9 here, but as it stands, it has to be rated as is for now.
@unrealnoise: Actually, I think their score is right on. As much as I am actually enjoying the game, there are still way too many bugs that need to be hammered out.
GS is not a joke for refusing to acknowledge these issues like a lot of other websites did. And if you can't understand that someone else's opinion does not = your opinion, then the joke is on you.
