Ok, that is it. I have never been a fan of the way the BCS works but this year has ticked me off again. LSU was messed over again and placed in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. Now I do want to state that I have nothing against the Sugar Bowl or Notre Dame. I love the Sugar Bowl because it is just about one hour from me and I root for Notre Dame when they are not playing LSU. The problem here is the system. The BCS is made up of five games (The National Championship Game, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and the Sugar Bowl). No problem there. The top 10 teams are supposed to be in the five games and they should be placed in the order they rank. This is the problem, the top ten teams do not get in and they are not placed in order. In this case, LSU is number four and there fore should play number three Michigan. No, someone with no regards to the standings had to put number three Michigan against number five Southern California. Another failure in the series is that number nine. Auburn did not receive a BCS game at all. They were messed over in favor of Notre Dame. Auburn rightfully should have a BCS game and they don’t. This is just another year that shows the shortcomings of the BCS in big bright neon signs. My message to the BCS: Stop fixing and start playing fair. The BCS needs to do the correct thing, adopt a playoff system. Only then will we know the true champion in college football. Also I know that you at the BCS are money hungry so here is another FYI: A playoff system would create more games making the BCS and the schools more money. I know there is nothing that can be done for this year but hopefully thing will change in the near future. For now; GEAUX Tigers.
