Another visit with Grandpa just brought up major bad news. He... can't walk anymore, and when he lies down on the bed, he can't pick himself up. Last week, we brought him to the hospital and he was quite strong enough to walk on his own. It seems that his condition has worsened. He avoids bending frontwards or backwards, otherwise he may get shocked (which totally made me break in tears). Now he sits quietly in the couch, where he must stay upright to eat, sleep, and interact. At the same time, he experiences pain, and takes morphine to numb it, although the medication doesn't seem to work according to him.

It is becoming a serious matter in the family, and I do hope he will get well soon.... or at least live enough to enjoy the best of what life offers.
