??? Plasma can show truer blacks than LCD because plasma can completely turn off each individual pixel. "When light hits a plasma it turns their blacks grey" is actually true for LCD as LCD always has a back-lit source which prevents true "inky black levels" that are possible from plasma. Localized LED dimming on LCD's attempt to solve this by shutting off the backlight in darker areas of a screen so that the native resolution can get better on LCD's . This helps, but no LCD has a native contrast ratio better than the best plasmas out there.rastanThe acid test for any display is to watch a starry night scene, or perhaps a fireworks scene. I gauruntee that "NO" LCD TV will ever be able to show thse scenes with good image quality. Astrobuf
