There are two things wrong with the industry, IMO. 1. Originality. No offense to people who like 'em, but enough M-rated, blood-and-gore, violent and flashy graphics shooters. I like what that one editor said: we need more games like say Scribblenauts. Games that, like in my case, fill me with an urge to go out to buy a console even if for that one game. This leads to our next problem. 2. Money. The industry is perhaps afraid to try something drastically new but stick to the popular violent and bloody games. Why? Because they sell. But is this the same for the quality? Because of this, it's hard to tell games apart anymore because there are so many imitations, just because it's the type of game that'll sell.
