EA games

I will no longer purchase any games from EA. The only games that i truly liked by them in the first place were there sports games. I believe that ESPN has the better sports games in basketball and football. I think that this exclusive rights crap should fall under the monopoly law. EA has lost the edge and the way they try to make up for it is by throwing money around. I am sorely dissappointed that i will not be able to purchase a football game in 2005. Way to go EA:(

GOTY Considerations

I would like to preface the GOTY considerations by saying that 2004 is by far the best year for new games coming out in the history of video games IMO. Also 2005 has the potential to be even better than 2004 so it is a great time to be a gamer.

This year my game of the year is going to be limited to the xbox, GC and PS2 because i haven't played any other system's games that came out this year.

My requirements for a game to be eligible for game of the year.

Must take at least 30 hours to beat the game the first time through

must give me a reason to want to come back and play it more after i have beat it

must make me get frustrated at points and time through the game because of the difficulty of the game(I want a challenge that i really have to think about different ways to approach a situation in order to be able to get past a point in the game)

I have to go holy **** at some point in the game whether it is because of storyline, graphics, I am scared by something occuring in the game, or i am just intimitadated by what i am about to face.

I have to feel like i have really accomplished something and enjoyed the whole experience after i have beat the game.

My considerations for game of the year this year:

Ninja Gaiden

Rainbow Six Three Black Arrow

Games that are yet to come out that are up for consideration:

Halo 2

Ghost Recon 2

Prince Of Persia Warrior Within

Gran Turismo 4

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes

At this point I would have to say that Ninja Gaiden is the front runner. It has amazing graphics, you really have to learn a new way to fight in this game that is different than any game i have played before. It is definitely high on the difficulty level not only in fighting, but also in problem solving. There are several times in the game that I was highly intimidated by in this game. Starting on the level 2 boss, but also including alma in chapter 7, the dragon skeleton in whatever chapter, and the flury of bosses that you have to fight in that one stage near the end. This game took me well over 30 hours to beat and I did not use a guide to help me in this game. This is just flat out one of the best games i have ever played. My only complaint is how easy the last boss is, i guess team ninja just felt sorry for you, but i would have liked the last boss to be more difficult. With the ability to unlock NG 1-3 and downloadable content you can play this game for a very long time. Finally the surprise ending to the story totally caught me be surprise and was a good touch. The only reason that this game has left itself open for competition for GOTY is because the last boss is so easy. I honestly believe that Halo 2 is the only game that has a shot at taking this title away and bungie will have to do a phenomonal job to do that. I highly doubt that they will be up to the challenge. Also of note is that there are a couple of games that come out in the first three months that would have been considered. Including Forza, Jade Empire, and Star Wars Republic Commando.

My past GOTY list is as follows:

Please Note my GOTY list is for games that I have played which will be for xbox, ps2, and GC in 2001-2004, 2000 and prior will be for nintendo and playstation and PC games only.

2003 Rainbow Six Three Runners Up Socom II, Zelda Windwaker(Sorry I am just getting tired of Zelda I guess)

2002 Metroid Prime none worth mentioning as runner ups

2001Halo Runner up Gran Turismo III A-spec

2000 Perfect Dark Runner Up Tekken Tag Team

1999 Syphon Filter

1998 Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time

1997 Diablo

1996 Duke Nukem

1995 Tecmo Super Bowl III The Final Edition

1994 Super Metroid

1993 Doom

1992 Legend of Zelda A link to the past

1991Super Castlevania IV

1990 Tecmo Bowl

1989 Ninja Gaiden

1988 Blaster Master

1987 The Legend of Zelda

1986 Metroid

1985 Super Mario Bros.

Finally my top two games of all time are perfect dark and a close second is Zelda Ocarina of time

Now, I know that you are dying to throw some comments out on this one so lets hear it.

List of what my wishlist used to include

I figured I would include these games in my journal so that other people could see what I have my eye on and so that I would have more then one place to reference the games I am watching. I used to have these in my wish list just so i could keep track of them but I figured I would return the wishlist to games that i am definitely getting so there was no confusion. Updated Wish List and tracked games

Well I decided that I should really update my wish list and tracked games to use them for what they are intended. I had 22 games on my wish list before, because I was using it to double as a tracking system for games I want to keep an eye on, but I realized that someone could get the wrong impression even though i explain what my wish list includes in the about wish list comment section. It now inlcudes only games that i am definitely buying without question, and has been reduced to 6. I am keeping track of some of the games that were on my wishlist with the tracking feature. Although PDO is on both tracking and wishlist, because I want to know the minute anything new arrives on this game. So that means that by looking at my wishlist and tracked games you can find 15 of the origonal 22 that were on my wishlist. I have made a complete list of games that I am interested in on my computer for future reference. There now I feel a lot better because my wishlist is now really my wishlist. The tracking games includes games I am not sure of with the exception of PDO for the aforementioned reason. It just looks more organized this way, and I LIKE IT!!!!
