, it ALWAYS has! The 360 launch was awesome, they had some of their best games to date on that freaking launch. And it's only gotten better from there. I knew that the 360 was something to buy right from launch (even though I waited a few months anyway) and I certainly never thought of Microsoft as needing to do anything to make itself more presentable to me as a consumer. They did virtually everything right, a few hardware issues aside. Their console has the best games, but come on: It even looks cool. The controller is fantastic, the interface is well integrated with the guide button, the downloadable content is icing on the cake, I mean come on. I see the thread has been kept alive. Albeit with flames, but I can live with that. I'm going to respond to the past twenty posts or so by clearing the air.

I understand that some of you might be huge Sony fanboys, but how about actually constructing a reasonable defense instead of bashing me, individually. I made the thread with the intention of presenting the reality of the situation for the PS3. Of course, since I made it in the system wars forum I intended to piss off the Sony fans. Well, it appears I have done that. However, I want to be shown why the PS3 isn't a complete failure. So far I've heard a lot of "Well you're just saying that because you're validating your purchase," or "you're a moron" or "how could you care so much?" or "i'm stupid and didn't read your post but i'll comment anyway." Keep it coming, I don't care. Stick to the issue, you're getting nowhere turning me into a "fanboy" of Microsoft. If I was a fanboy, you'd tell because I'd be stupid. My position isn't "My console is better than yours," it is "Sony is failing miserably."

Hmm, I think you should reread your OP post; you positioned yourself as a "fanboy" by posting a lot of misinform information and praising Microsoft's line-up. You give off the feeling from your third paragraph that the ps3 DOES NOT HAVE ANY GAMES that are worth buying for the holidays, even though the truth is there ARE games that are worth buying (check 1up e3 sections for further details). Sorry to say this it might hurt your feelings after rereading your post 3 times I concluded you ARE trying to justify your purchase, come on man 2 of your paragraphs was just rambling of the reasons you purchase an Xbox. That means that you feel that Xbox is the superior system, but after e3 what happened? You had a unsettle irritating feeling because instead of your wonderful purchase that impressed you, the liar, evil, corrupt, Sony did which lead to you posting on the forums to try to justify your decision.

I know your type very well you wanted to hear people's opinions, views, beliefs that are similar to your own so you will feel at ease, but instead of gaining that you were chewed up by the ps3 fans and (intelligent/mature) Xbox crew abandoned you.

Don't get the impression I actually believe Sony will pull out. They are too proud of their past accomplishments to do that. My post was to point out that for a gamer who's been around long enough to at least speak properly about an issue (something a number of people in this thread haven't yet achieved), I am extremely disappointed with the severe drop in quality of Sony's console division since the PS2 era. I mean, they have no chance.

Oh, and JustaBox: Don't kid yourself. The E3 2007 Killzone trailer hardly looked as good as the pre-rendered one at 2005. The game actually looks great, but not anything special when other games of comparable quality that are actually real are coming out, particularly on the PC format. And, come on, it's Killzone. We all know it won't possibly compare to something like Halo in terms of fun factor. But, we don't know until it comes out. Just don't bank everything on one game.

It's obvious why you made this thread to try to justify that you made the right purchase, therefore I fully understand why you want the ps3 to die. You must understand that not everything will go the way you want it to and that goes for the future of the ps3 too. Obviously you have done A LOT of research on the ps3 system, so you should know that there are A LOT of good games coming to the ps3, but why would you still state that the ps3 is going to die? I could only come up with 2 conclusions one is that you are being corrupted by a biased source or SECOND you are afraid that the ps3 will win, therefore meaning that you made a fatal error of purchasing an inferior system. I probably think you fit under the second choice. Don't worry though, its natural for anyone to justify their purchase, and by having more 360 owners obviously mean that there are more Xbox 360 fanboys than any other consoles because a lot more xbox/ps3 owners want to justify that they made the right choice.

Excuse me, are you kidding me? EVERY retail store I have been in which sells video game consoles has these dusty PS3 boxes just lined up. They'd love for you to buy one, but they know few will. The PS3 is sold out precisely nowhere. Like, PS3's are so common it's pretty funny to walk by them w/ your friends and remark, "Lol hey theres some PS3's. Wonder why no one's bought one."

Uh, you should wake up from your dreamland and face reality.
