Hi, I am currently a PS3 owner and I was considering buying an XBOX 360 next month. The one question that has been in my mind was whether it is too late for me to buy a 360. I know the xbox has only been out for about 4 years but I don't really see a great line up of games comming out in 2009 so far for the XBOX 360. Anyways, if I could get your opinon on whether I should buy a 360 or not, you would have my undying gratitude.

P.S. One more thing, if you are a fanboy of either Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo(for god's sake), please do not reply to my thread.

Thanks again,

Thank you all for the prompt replys.

If I have understood the gist of all your replys in a summary, the majority believe that my CPU would almost instantly bottleneck the card. A suggestion to get a new CPU had caught my attention. As I know from reaidng on other fourms, my dell 0X8582 motherboard does not support a large variety of processors. I would be greatful if this wonderful gamespot community could help me some more and tell me which decently cheap motherboard I could buy THAT would also fit into my case snug(no modifcations to the case)

Thanks in Advance,

Hi, I currently own a Dimension 9100 with a Pentium D 830 processor(3.0 Ghz) and have a ATI X1800XL(PCI-E X16) from few years ago. I was looking to upgrade my graphics card in a few weeks and was wondering if my CPU would bottleneck a GeForce GTX 260 Core 192. I also want to mention that I do not have the budget to upgrade my CPU nor do I have that feasible option as my dell motherboard is not very friendly with some of the newer, better processors currently on the market.

A link to the card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130370

If I could also get your opinon on whether my system would be able to run any games in DX 10 IF I did purchase the GeForce GTX 260 Core 192, I would be much obliged.

My system specs are as follows:

1 TB SATA 7200 RPM

2 GB DDR2 @ 667 Mhz

Pentium D 830 @ 3.0 Ghz

Hopefully, a GeForce GTX 260 Core 192

Thank You In Advance,

Aznparty

Comics can be found at The Punisher Comics I have no idea why I created this topic in the ps3 fourm but hey... there it is. And for the record, I am not the one who created the album, I merely found it while reaidng a Marvel fourm.

Grunt I have had the same problem with my guitar. The problem is that the usb port in which the guitar receiver is plugged in to is being used by a PS3 controller. All you have to do is change the ps3 controller to controller 4(mic) and the guitar should work fine. :) ur welcome

Hmm.. I have a very similar problem. What I do is I buy a visa or AMEX giftcard from a local supermarket and buy the game online. For delivery, tell a friend that you are not going to be home on "this" day and tell him that you got the package delievered at his place. When it arrives, and you friend gives it to you, I want you to say... GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!

Yea.. I didn't fully understand this.

I have a pci express x16 slot.

The ati Hd 3870 is pci express 2.0

Now, I wikied it and found out that 2.0 works on the older versions.

Is this true?

And also if I use it on the older version will it made a performance difference?

I am in need of a decent directx 10 graphics card, with an aftermarket(3rd party) cooler. I want to stick to nvidia because my currently x1800xl was getting too hot out of the box and I was compelled to buy a Artic Cooling solution.

Try to keep the budget within 100-250 $(Usa dollar).

Any input?
