Think about this for a minute. Streaming the same game from Win10 to the Xbox One at 1080p 60fps off an Intel processor and 400 dollar AMD or NVidia GPU.

That's called game the **** over. They are already allowing the Xbox One to stream to the PC at 1080p 60fps. What's to stop them from releasing a Win10 and X1 version of every game they make and allowing them to be played from either device?

EDIT: Essentially using your PC as the Hardware, and the X1 as a HUB.

That already exists. Take for example the $99 Razer Forge TV running Android TV (5.0 Lollipop):

They're also launching a wireless controller, and a wireless keyboard / mouse that fits in your lap:

I know right... The bad part is I had to explain that common shit to people. They actually thought I was saying the Xbox One's physical hardware would be upgraded.

Seriously. How do you even think something like that.... Please explain it to me.. I'm at a loss.

@b4x: did you just call SW a hardcore gaming forum?

I believe a lot of people in here would at least know that. For the love of god!

Seriously though. There are several hardcore gamers here. That should know their shit.

EDIT: I say streaming Win10 Xbox One app games from the PC to the Xbox One. Results in an instant hardware upgrade of the game. Utilizing the PC hardware.

They think I'm saying the Xbox One is some how becoming a super computer. Altering the hardware. There is no way you can come to that conclusion if you KNOW console hardware is Static.

To even take it there ..... I can't wrap my head around it... It's to far into the dumb for me.

To even have to explain that to people on here, just pissed me off..

LMAO yet another BX4 thread that he grenades himself because he types one thing and rages that he meant something else.

I'm sorry people on here don't know Console hardware is static. The poor basterds. :p

If you have to tell people something as simple as that.... to explain something. That are in a hardcore gaming forum.

They need to quit.

EA

Blizzard being part of Activision... I almost had to pull the Activision trigger.

I think EA's over all portfolio put's them a little in the lead with me.

UBI 29.99 season passes with locked chests on apps can suck it.

EA Access which gives you access to 10 whole games? is the same price as a UBI season pass for one game... With ass add-ons. See Gamespot Unity add-on review.

UBI idiots. Suck it.

yet again ps4 wins. bu-bu dx12!!!

So you're telling us this game engine is built on a DX12 engine? I have only heard Unity and Unreal 4 support DX12 at this point. The X1 could have DX12 features in the API... guess what this engine doesn't support DX12.

See saying things like what you just said....well you know what it means.

When games are built on DX12 engines and they have these problems.. an Unreal 4 engine game for example. Wouldn't it be better to say something like that then? This is a gen 7 engine with tweaks. How does "LOL DX12" even apply here?

PS4 raw GPU power is always going to win in a scenario like this. The API is custom to the PS4. The PS4 API is mature and it will continue to mature. So this gap probably won't close. It has no legacy redundancy as DX11 does, that is still in the X1 API.. Game engines that are truly built around the hardware and APIs in both systems will be the true test.

When DX12 is final on the X1.. which Phil said they will be adding it soon, and an actual engine is built to fully support DX12. Unreal 4 / Unity.

I think that will be the time to say "LOL DX12". That's my reasoning anyways.. We'll see.

So basically this entire thing is Microsoft fanboys hoping that there is some secret magic that can make the Xbox One more powerful than the PS4. That's what this entire DX12 nonsense has come down too.

I'm sure the Xbox One with a measurably weaker GPU than the PS4's will somehow, through software upgrades, become more powerful than the PS4 so you can win petty and pointless arguments on System Wars.

I would more like to think it's something fans of the Xbox brand can look forward to.

Phil saying they knew what Dx12 could do when they built the X1 is kind of interesting. You have to admit.

They have never talked about the gpu in the X1.. People have speculated what it is.. Microsoft has never confirmed or denied claims. Is it because it's weak... or are they hiding something?

EDIT: Or did they in the Eurogamer article?

I think at GDC they will talk more about it.

I'm taking the wait and see approach.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Secret Sauce is not my forte.

@ttboy: I'm not exactly sure how I can be wrong. You can't magically make hardware more powerful with a software upgrade and consoles are already built around 3D graphic operations so there are no major software bottlenecks to overcome.

Metro developer does not agree with that at all.

He bitched about DX11 how it was single thread heavy. Asking why Microsoft had the API on the system in the first place.

Digital Foundry: DirectX 11 vs GNMX vs GNM - what's your take on the strengths and weakness of the APIs available to developers with Xbox One and PlayStation 4? Closer to launch there were some complaints about XO driver performance and CPU overhead on GNMX.

Oles Shishkovstov: Let's put it that way - we have seen scenarios where a single CPU core was fully loaded just by issuing draw-calls on Xbox One (and that's surely on the 'mono' driver with several fast-path calls utilised). Then, the same scenario on PS4, it was actually difficult to find those draw-calls in the profile graphs, because they are using almost no time and are barely visible as a result.

In general - I don't really get why they choose DX11 as a starting point for the console. It's a console! Why care about some legacy stuff at all? On PS4, most GPU commands are just a few DWORDs written into the command buffer, let's say just a few CPU clock cycles. On Xbox One it easily could be one million times slower because of all the bookkeeping the API does.

But Microsoft is not sleeping, really. Each XDK that has been released both before and after the Xbox One launch has brought faster and faster draw-calls to the table. They added tons of features just to work around limitations of the DX11 API model. They even made a DX12/GNM style do-it-yourself API available - although we didn't ship with it on Redux due to time constraints.

Streaming PC games on your xboxone doesn't make your system any more powerful. I don't think anyone is claiming that.

Its all about convenience

I didn't say that, that's what this guys mind derived from what I typed. The Xbox One is STATIC hardware.

If you don't flesh posts out like talking to a child.. Hand holding people on here... It's fucking unreal.

I know You know exactly what I meant... There's no other way it could happen... ZERO

The PC would be the Hardware upgrade.... The Xbox One will always be static...

The PC is hosting the game. It is an INSTANT hardware upgrade <--- see you keep saying bollocks like this..... your pc is playing games the way it has always played them whether it is streaming to a xbox tablet phone or tiny ass media center how in any world IS IT A FUCKING UPGRADE?

you keep using that word but nothing is being upgraded you are streaming games nothing new or anything........you are the one talking utter nonsense and a good way to tell someone who does not bring the facts is somebody who claims to.

sadly I get exactly what you are saying..its just not my fault its complete bollocks.

You created a massive fucking original post about something as simple as streaming to another device something which has been done before many times trying to blow it up into something is not.

The funny thing here is that i'm the one takling about simple streaming and you are the one saying words like "Upgrade" despite there being no need to use it and you wonder why it's confusing.

Once again dont blame others for you failing to get your point across the whole thread is filled with people misunderstanding you not because of all the ridiculous hyperbole and nonsense you typed but because everyone is clearly just not intelligent enough to understand your superior thinking right?

You make mountains out of mole hills and then complain when people mistake those mole hills for mountains.

You are a ponce.

How can static hardware ever be upgraded....

If you think I would ever think something like that.. I don't know what to tell you man.

Considering the fact that the X1 is static... I thought people could put two and two together. To actually understand what I was saying.

I'll be more concise next time. Considering that simple thing "static hardware" is apparently not common knowledge on here.

I just figured everyone knew or was following what I was talking about.

It was my fault not to write out an essay.

As far as the name calling between each other... I don't know where it started, or by who. If it was me, my apologies.

At least people now know what I was / am talking about now. I consider it a hardware upgrade. My PC hardware that is streaming to the X1. Considering I own 2 X1s already. I can't wait for this to come, if it does eventually.

I figured everyone knew console hardware was static.

How is anything I say hyperbole. You don't think Sony should follow suit with an app like this?
