Are you able to play with just 2 or 3 people or do you have to have 4?

I have my PS3 hooked up to HDMI upstairs. I went to go move it downstairs where it doesn't have HDMI so i was using component cables. When i plugged them in nothing happened. What do i have to do to switch the video modes. (I hope there is an easier way then switching the video modes upstairs before bringing it downstairs)

i bought a cd like this. where it let you make 2 copies of the cd. but then it wouldn't let you do anymore after that. Maybe this could be the same way. you can make 2 copies on to a dvd or laptop and then after that you have to buy it again. but still that would be great

I have the psp and its updated and i can use the remote play fine. but its like once i do that, whats the point. I can be at my house and use the same router and connect to my psp and ps3 that way. but if i leave my ps3 on remote play and go over a friends house and try to connect i can't. I thought you were supposed to use the psp that way. I thought that you were supposed to access your ps3 like a server anywhere as long as you had wi fi connection to your psp. Let me know if i'm doing something wrong or missing a step.
