Angry Birds 2 Will Come Soon on July 30

Angry Birds 2 from Rovio is slated for release on Android and iOS devices come July 30th at the end of the month. The game is the official sequel to Angry Birds, which seems to have enough spin-offs to actually qualify as sequels.

Based on Rovio's history with experimenting with the Angry Birds property it's not outside the realm of possibilities to expect something completely different from the original title, which was basically a trajectory-based puzzle game. However, given that it's just Angry Birds 2 the game might be slightly more traditional than their other efforts, which have recently included racing games like Angry Birds Race, spin-offs like Angry Birds: Stella and Angry Birds: Space, and other wacky cross-branded content like Angry Birds: Star Wars and Angry Birds: Transformers.

Vietnam's mobile game market tops SE Asia, poised to grow

Vuong Vu Thang, managing director of SohaGame, a leading mobile game publisher in Vietnam, said Vietnam's sales are equal to the combined figures of Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand last year.

Recent statistics by international application market researcher App Annie also put three Vietnamese game publishers among Southeast Asia's top 10.

Moreover, Vietnam's market has a lot of potential to grow, expectedly by nearly 229 percent in 2017 from 2014, experts said.By that time, mobile games' sales will surpass PC and web games, accounting for 60 percent of the whole gaming market in Vietnam, they said.

One of the country's advantages, according to experts, is that Vietnam has up to 134 million cell phone subscribers, even though its population is only 90 million. Up to 92 percent of cell phone users play games on their devices, they said.

The Best Weapon in Destiny Will Be Weaker

Some weapons will be "buffed," or made stronger, while other weapons will be "nerfed," or made less powerful or effective. Of those weapons getting nerfed, the exotic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn, widely considered to be one of the best weapons in the entire game, is getting a pretty severe reduction to its damage output.

All weapons in "Destiny" will get their day in the sun. When the game first launched, the exotic auto rifle Suros Regime was probably the most powerful, overused item in the game. After some rounds of weapon rebalancing, considerably fewer people use Suros Regime, and they're moving onto other weapons. Bungie wants this kind of fluidity, where players will regularly rotate their favorite weapons, in hopes to keep players interested over the next 10 years.
