buffjeff, do you go to west point or just do rotc? Because it sounds like you go to west point but your avatar says pittsburgh. I was just wondering because both of my parents went to west point.

Anyway, my goals are to make the A honor roll the last semester and to be better than this one kid in my school at guitar by April.

he's not really close to me, especially because I have eight other uncles, but one of my uncles committed suicide like a year ago and I hardly cared at all, other than for his kids who are now fatherless. On the other hand, though, I didn't recognize his name, so it's not like I knew him that well.

[QUOTE="BrokenDreams13"]Rich people who are depressed. gobo212

You do know that clinical depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain right? Just because you have a lot of money doesn't exempt you from brain chemistry and hereditary illnesses.

Anyway I don't feel much sympathy for the following:

People who worship celebrities

Terrorists that target civilians

Members of the U.S. armed forces

Not cool, man. My dad almost died in Iraq. But now that you've caught my interest, why do you say that?

and that was what he wanted. Does anyone else find that completely pointless? Think of what else he could have done with that money!

my family just got a new home computer, and its not bad, but it only has an integregated graphics card and the best card its power supply will support is the 8600 GT. Buying a new power supply isn't really an option, so what kind of graphics/performance would I get with this rig in new games like crysis, cod4 and company of heroes?

2.33 GHz core 2 duo

2 gigs of ram

8600 GT

I don't know if it matters, but ithas windows vista

Yeah, that's a horrible deal. If your Dad agrees to let you build a computer, what price range would it have to fall into?kodex1717

about $1500 to $1800

For some reason, my dad insists on getting a dell as our new family computer. I'm not an expert, but I know enough to know that we'd be better off getting it elsewhere, even if we just ordered parts and I put it together(I know how to).

Here are the specs:

Intel Core 2 duo E6650(4MB L2 cache, 2.33 GHz, 1333 FSB)

2 GB dual channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz-4DIMMS

20 inch E207WFP Widescreen digital flat panel

320 GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/ DataBurst Cache

NVIDIA 8600 GT

Dell 13-in-1 Media Card Reader

and then a keyboard, mouse, stuff like that, all for about $1,700

Is he getting ripped off? If so, can you recommend a better computer in that price range? Keep in mind that this is for multipurpose use, not just for gaming.
