@SprSynJn: I fully agree the music is incredible.. I let the opening screen play for a good 10 minutes the other day, before I even logged in. And, yes the reviewer doesn't sound like he's been playing, just dipped his toes in again when Roi came out. I'm thoroughly enjoying the expansion, just wish the story part was a bit longer. Raid is awesome!
@madMARTYNmarsh: I guess all I can say is I completely disagree with you, and I'm not a youngster, I've been playing video games since the 80's. Games are not that expensive and neither is DLC; considering what you're getting out of it. And if you don't like the game, then sell it and get some money back.
And that "content that used to be included in my original purchase," was not in your original purchase. I love all the cheap conspiracy theorists thinking that the whole original game was there when it launched.... it wasn't. Yea someone went through and found pieces of the content we are getting now, but that's because these thing take years to make and refine. Ideas change. of course Activision is greedy as hell, but you got what you paid for. The developers at Bungie are not the ones making the millions. The small team that started is now bigger, and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that, that's where the dough is going. I have no proof and neither do you, until we can get a glimpse of their quarterly statements. Idk... i get what you trying to say... i just think you're wrong.
The game "world" is great. Not the whole thing.. but for the most part its awesome. And these new "silver" transactions... its cosmetic. Fun stuff that you don't need to buy. Now, the day they offer an actual game component for real money.. I'm out. That would be horrible, but I can't imagine Bungie, or even Activision for that matter, is that stupid.
I did a little math btw.. Destiny has cost be about a $1 for every 10 hours of play so far. So technically is 60 times cheaper than the majority of the other ones I own. That's not to say the others are a rip off... I'm just getting a real good deal on this one.
@BovineDivine: No, if I dig it and have money, I'll buy it. But if it's going to the hard work of keeping the game live and in working order... and adding more to it... then shit I don't mind spending it. If in fact that's the truth... and I think it is. pay to win however, total crap. Especially after you've already payed to play.
and the money that bought the game went to the making of the initial game... keeping that game up and running and evolving takes more time and money. and considering I've had like a literal week worth, or something like that, of entertainment; the price point isn't bad. A movie costs almost 20 bucks... that's 3 hours tops. I don't get everyone crying over game and DLC costs. Especially when there so many good free to play games out, if you don't want to spend money.
Year 2 Destiny, Taken King is, incredible. Everything I wanted and more. Def going to support the live team, and enjoy whatever awesomeness they send my way.
