Episode 22 - Cowboy Funk
Spike is going after the terrorist called Teddy Bomber. When Spike asks why he blows up buildings, Teddy Bomber is interrupted by Andy, another bounty hunter dressed as a cowboy. Andy mistakes Spike as being Teddy Bomber and tries to arrest him. Unable to believe this, Spike points to the real Teddy Bomber, but it is too late. The buildings blow up and Teddy Bomber gets away.
Back on the Bebop, Spike has Ed look up Andy's profile. Faye comments on how similar Andy is to Spike, making him angry. That night, the trio goes to a costume party, trying to capture Teddy Bomber again. They find Teddy Bomber, dressed in a teddy bear costume. Before Teddy Bomber can explain, he is once again interrupted by Andy, who now accuses Jet or Spike of being Teddy Bomber. Angered, Teddy Bomber sets off the bombs and everyone runs to escape.
Faye winds up with Andy, who takes her back to his place. Spike, on the other hand, flies after the both of them, trying to kill Andy.
At Andy's place, Faye tries to talk to Andy, but gets disgusted rather quickly because he is more full of himself than Spike is. She returns to the Bebop with a sack of Andy's canned stew and an explanation to Jet that Spike and Andy are too similar. While they are watching Big Shot, the announcers read a letter from Teddy Bomber, directed at Spike and Andy. Based on the information provided, Ed figures out that Teddy Bomber's next target is city hall.
The next day, as Teddy Bomber is trying to explain himself, Andy appears again. As Andy and Spike are arguing, Teddy Bomber blows up the fountain in front of the building. Realizing that they need to capture Teddy Bomber, they chase after him. However, they run into an elevator that has been rigged to take them to the top floor. The pair of them struggle to escape the elevator before it reaches the top.
Meanwhile, Faye punches the lights out of Teddy Bomber and arrests him. Back at the top of the building, Spike and Andy fight, each trying to outdo each other. After Spike falls off a crumbling ledge, he becomes so angry that he punches the ground, sending Andy plummeting off the side of the building. Andy admits defeat, amazed at the strength of the punch. He hands Spike his cowboy hat and leaves.
