JC3 looks like it's aimed at the same crowd that enjoys messing around in GTA V. Tonnes of fun for some, an absolute boring waste of time for others.
I spent hours messing around with blowing stuff up in San Andreas, testing out the physics engine by trying to pile up as many cars as I could into an intersection & cause a massive explosion by punching the engine. However by GTA IV, I mostly stuck to actual missions, same with V. I played through the first Just Cause but I couldn't get into JC2. When a game throws out the story & focuses on the sandbox, I lose interest. There are more than enough open world games coming out in 2015 & this is one I don't feel compelled to play.
@prince__vlad: It's OK to play a "stupid" game once in a while if that's your thing. It's not my thing but there's no point in judging others for what they find enjoyable.
@masonshoemocker: I'm hoping SCUF make some changes to become a bit more competitive. A $20 add-on for button remapping seems excessive, it should come as standard.
The 360 controller has always felt a bit cheap & I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for some decent hardware. The elite looks OK but at that price, I'd prefer to be able to customise the colour scheme.
Not really a fan of these "Gamespotters react to..." type videos.
You guys are professionals, give us your professional review of the controller not 5 different first impressions. The ADD editing might be popular with kids but I had to stop watching. I'd rather see a longer form video than a collection of three second clips.
@garfield: Well these days a 7 is a bad score so yeah, sure. Going by what numbers actually mean, it's just average.
I don't think it deserves such a low score though, it has made some serious innovations over the classic city builder model. Being able to relocate your buildings & rearrange your layout with no penalty & having a real focus on efficiency rather than just growing makes for an interesting change compared to Civ or even Tropico.
Oh yay, more dlc! Wouldn't it be nice if they had their engineers on fixing the PC port instead?
I haven't gone past the benchmark & I was waiting for SLI suuport to actually start the game since it wasn't exactly yielding amazing results on one GTX970. Apparently they've completely given up in SLI now so I'm considering going for the refund rather than spend the rest of my life waiting for a fix that will never happen.
I don't know who built this game but they obviously screwed it up bad. Rocksteady is going to have to do a whole lot to build trust in the future.
