Will there be a mod to bring Rousey into the men's comp to kick all their arses?
She's on the cover/main image of the UFC mobile game too but buying her character costs an obscene amount of real world money & the female competitors are pretty limited in number. If they do this game well, I'm in but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.
@chillgamer: Yep, I think CD Projekt Red are the true gold standard for open world RPGs now. Sure, there were bound to be a few bugs in The Witcher 3 but they've continued to patch the game & even fix poor design decisions like the lack of item storage. Their track record with the previous titles in the series was great as well.
Bethesda makes some amazing games so it's a real shame that the technical aspects let them down time after time.
I've actually been having fun with the mobile game. It's pretty basic but still better than a lot of phone games out there.
UFC is a tough game to make because you can't just punch down a health bar. You need to have the option to jump into an arm bar & end matches in under 30 seconds like Rhonda Rousey. Obviously some skill on the player's part needs to be present, you can't just press X to win whenever you play as Rousey but the game shouldn't force you to whittle down a health bar when that's not the fighter's style.
From what I hear, the first UFC game isn't amazing so I haven't bothered trying it. I would love to play one done right but I feel like if the devs stick to traditional fighting or wrestling game mechanics, it's bound for failure.
I remember the game breaking bugs on the PS3 version of Skyrim. That played a considerable role in getting me back into PC gaming. Soldiers swimming through the air is hilarious but losing hours of gameplay due to a problem in the main quest line doesn't exactly endear me to Bethesda.
I'm waiting a while before picking up Fallout 4 on PC. Most Bethesda games require a few patches & a few mods to enjoy properly. They really need to get a new engine. They obviously still haven't figured out the one they're using.
Some of that tech like gradually softening shadows sounds really cool. I just hope it will work.
I gave Unity a miss because I don't want to waste time on average games that are full of bugs. If Syndicate's PC port performs well, I'm in for this one.
