I know scores are pretty arbitrary numbers but 9 seems a bit high considering all the negatives he mentioned.
I'm a Fallout fan since the first game but I've never really loved Bethesda's implementation of the franchise. For a game that looks a lot like a first person shooter, at least the shooting finally looks a bit smoother in their third attempt. For me, Fallout is all about the roleplay elements & I just don't want anything detracting from that. Bad combat makes me frustrated with controls rather than being immersed in the situation & lackluster graphics or bugs distract me from the world my character is living in.
I'm going to hold out for a while - hopefully a few patches & a lot of mods will reduce the aspects that detract from this being an awesome game. I don't know if the AI pathing will ever be fixed, that sounds like a tough one but I expect some graphical overhauls to start popping up in the next few months.
Oh Gamespot, you really need to do something about your video player.
There were fuzzy edges & macro blocks all over the place, it did not look like HD. It looks terrible & even then couldn't even run at a steady framerate on my work PC with no discrete graphics card. Youtube & Vessel players run fine & look better.
@cpuchess: He probably does. When you earn a lot, your expenses rise to meet your income. You have more money for nicer clothes, a nicer car, more to "waste" on hobbies. Hopefully what you give back to society will increase as well, they obviously didn't ask him about that because it wasn't the story.
I don't know who you are or where you live but if you have an internet connection & frequent a gaming website, it's likely that you are richer than the vast majority of people in this world. It's easy to point the finger at those richer than us & complain that they should help out the less fortunate but don't let it distract you from the fact you & I should be helping people out too.
@chashuramen: Actual expansions that add something considerable to the game can definitely be worth paying for. Cosmetic stuff like a new skin is fine to sell in a free-to-play model but should be included in the price of a full retail title.
I'm not sure what Ghost have planned for free DLC but a few freebies would certainly warm consumers to them if they decide to sell a more considerable update like a new section of map or a suite of new cars.
