What nonsense this is.
I don't know whether it shows up more the fact that yoshi's island is so good or that platform games are so over, but this is awful. Its identical but worse than the original (which was the first game I bought for the original gameboy) and a total waste of my time!

NEXT

I recently took delivery of the totally amazing 24" widescreen monitor from Dell. Its perfect with half life 2 which runs in 16:10 widescreen in its native resolution (1900x1200 :P). Its being powered by a radeon 9700 pro which can "do" that resolution (on pretty much full settings) but has does slow down on occasion - fair enough like, the card's a couple of years old.

Anyway, HL2 is of course, totally fantastic and great fun too. The physics model has really been used to its full potential, with loads of "puzzles" being solved by weighting down x using y and the bad guys die in amusing ways. I've been going through the rather lengthy air bike section (which does go on for a bit too long) and unfortunatelt the motion sickness I thought I'd left behind on my old CRT monitor + graphics card has returned. It really takes it out of you! Its only first person shooters really - the combination of tense gameplay and motion sickness means I have to take serious breaks from the screen, which is all rather unfortunate. I can feel pretty ill for up to an hour after an extended session. I wonder if a better card would make me feel less sick, or if its a good card making me feel more sick? Is this just me?

Anyway, HL2 is wicked. Rallisport Challenge is wicked also, but apparently "sounds awful" according to another (although the DD implementation is nicely done I thought). Mario Vs Donkey Kong is just fiendish :twisted:

Just got sent this by microsoft for recommending some friends to xbox live - amazing game.

Had one of those this is wicked moments when I first loaded it up and played it.
