Thanks for the reply apollo.

I actually fixed 2 Assassins Creed games in a maner very similar to what you described before I saw your post. I didn't include water though, I actually just "buffed" the white marks with cloth. A white t-shirt. Both games are fully functional now and have not given an unreadable error since.

Is there anything that can be done to help prevent this from happening? I too have had this happen with Assassin's Creed, twice now (2 different copies of the game).

I have my console laying on its side now, the first time this happened the console was standing up in the "traditional" position. The marks on that disk are worse than the second game which happened while the console was on its side.

These marks are exactly as the original poster describes, not so much scratches, but very faint white marks.

Any advice would be most appreciated. Has anyone heard of a way to prevent this, or is this just typical of Microsofts 360... (This is my third console, this first sent back for the red flashing lights. The replacement they sent me was dead on arrival... "Lucky" console #3 looks like... /sigh
