Launch Octopus was voiced in the PSP remake of Mega Man X, IIRC his personality was flamboyant and narcissistic.

I feel bad for them not finding success, but even I who grew up playing James Pond 2 don't want a new one. He's not a particularly endearing character and the style of platformer he was in can't compete with the modern ones still being made today.

Huh...alright.

I grew up playing James Pond 2: Codename Robocod on my Amiga CD 32. I liked it at the time and even finished it, which was rare for games I played at that time, since so many were very hard and limited the number of continues you had. Still, I don't quite have enough fondness or even nostalgia for it to wish for a revival.

Nice review Kevin, I agree wholeheartedly about everything.

I absolutely love some of the ideas this game has, and it's premise, I just wish it did more. Playing the game a second time I managed to keep all cubs safe without a lot of trouble other than worrying about food, which disappointingly turned out to not even be much of a problem at all.

It made me wish that food was so scarce that it was impossible to keep more than 4 cubs all the way through, to force you to make some tough arbitrary choices on who to feed.

Well, anyhow I'm not gonna belabor the game's failings more than that. The whole thing was a nice, if flawed, experience.

I don't mind them going back to this as a remake as I like seeing the world in a sharper resolution. What I'm not so sure about is the way the scrolling changes the mechanics of the game, and the speed of the running and the animations seem almost like slow-motion when compared to the original.

The scrolling I can live with, it doesn't need to stay the same, but the snappy movement is one of the reasons I love those old games, and THE reason I hold them above the games that inspired them.

It's a work in progress so I'll reserve further judgement, afterall this could all work out just fine, even if I don't end up liking it.

I live in Europe so I´m thinking of importing it. That way I won´t have to wait [Insert random high number here] months to play it. Also, annoingly, it will be quite a bit cheaper. My only question is: Will I be able to play with people who have the European version, locally.

Ah, super smash brothers melee. While I have played it extensively I never did get around to getting a copy of my own. With the realese of SSB Brawl that will all change however and soon Ill be kickin´ butt with Luigi once more (unless a certain someone cheates and uses Sheik again). Though I will never enjoy it at it´s fullest as long as megaman´s not in it, I mean yeah he´s Capcom but Snake is frikkin Konami. Sure, lately the megaman franschise has favoured Sony in some aspects but again Snake has only been in ONE nintendo game (for the sake of making my point I intend to ignore the two Nes and the one gameboy games that were released). On a second point the best megaman games were all on a nintendo console. in short...GIVE ME MEGAMAN DAMNIT! Note: for the record I have nothing against Solid Snake and I think it will be awesome with him in the game, still, I want the blue bomber.
