As a console gamer I've started to notice that I've recently been playing quite a few games on Steam over the past year and a half now with games like To The Moon, Thomas Was Alone, Hotline Miami and Savant Ascent well those are some of my favourite games under the Indie catalogue.
Looking ahead of 2014 there is already a great line-up of games coming thanks to Steam Early Access which is a program that will let you buy games while they are still in development which seems like a great idea meaning you are getting your money's worth out of it and does make it feel more like a Beta at the same time when you think about it. There is already a good line-up of access games already on the list and some of them are already impressive as it is and look ready to be released instantly but still not 100% finished, however I have watched Gamespot Steam Early Access Week Hub here is a list of 3 of those games on the Steam Early Access which I would recommend worth checking out-
In an open-world with an exploration being set in as a 2D game with a romantic wilderness of the Alps. Exploring savage mountains, encountering wild animal tribes, and secrets of an ancient culture; the world becomes part of an enduring struggle between nature and civilization. The art as well makes it really stand out for Secrets of Rætikon you can almost guarantee that this will be a major influence on everybody.
2) Damned
It's not very often we get horror games that have online support when it comes to online games Damned offers 5 players (4 survivors and 1 monster). You'll be able to play as one of four people being trapped in different haunted places like old houses, hospitals and hotels; already they want your help designing and develop Damned. This will make the game both fun and scary at the same time when it comes to playing with a few of your friends online.
3) Delver
Most gamers would say that this is way too similar to Minecraft when it comes to the art style and graphics used for Delver, this is actually in fact a first person action dungeon crawler with crunchy and well detailed pixels. Taking the role of an adventurer that tries their fate in the dark dungeons and very likely to die horribly just like you may see in games like Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. You'll fight monsters, grabbing loot, potions and level up your adventurer; desktop version lets you make and share your own monster items and texture packs including a level editor.
We all know that there will be various types of Steam machines being released in the future, but the games that Steam have got in stock so far are impressive and look forward to what the future holds for Steam Early Access.
