I just purchased a BRAND NEW xbox 360 and when I got home to open it, I noticed that the serial number on the outside of the box had been torn off, leaving the rest of the sticker but making the serial number unreadable. Also, the seal on the box had been broken and then re-sealed. Finally, the date on the outside of the box was labelled Aug 2009 but the date on the console is Oct 2009. My question is, why would someone have tampered with the box/serial and might the consoles have been switched for some reason? I can tell that the console I have IS a jasper unit so I'm not sure why it's been tampered with and whether I should return it to the store for a replacement? Thanks in advance!
