The whole console vs. pc war isn't still going on is it?

I'm thinking of getting a ps3, but only the 20g version--the 60g is too expensive for me. All in all, after buying a game or two and the warranty, then there's taxes, it'll end up costing well over $700Cdn. That's a lot to deal with. Especially when having to buy presents for everyone on Christmas. The only way I'm seeing this as a possibility is if I can get some extra cash pitched in on this for me as a Christmas gift, otherwise, there's no way.
