Over the past few weeks I've picked up a number of new movies, but I haven't had the time to post so I'm going to do them all in one quick and easy entry.
#338 -- The Good Shepherd
The Good Shepherd follows Edward Wilson (Matt Damon) through his days at Yale, life as a husband and father, and trials as an OSS Operative. Be warened that this film runs for 169-minutes and while the pace is slow, the time passes quickly as you're busy trying to figure out if anything is what it seems.
Grade: B
#339 -- Donnie Brasco
Johhny Depp plays an undercover FBI agent who befriends a mob hitman (Al Pacino) inorder to infiltrate a local organized crime syndicate. Depp's character soon finds himself identifying more with his life as a mobster which places a great strain on his marriage, job, and self-image.
Grade: B+
#340 -- Juno
Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) is a cool-headed quick-witted teenager who finds herself facing an unplanned pregnancy. With the support of friends and family Juno decides the best thing she can do is find capable and loving parents for the child she carries.
Grade: A
#341 -- Lars and the Real Girl
More and more people are find true love on the internet, but when Lars finds his true love in the form of a life-sized love doll that he ordered off the net his loving and concerned family enlists the help of Lars' co-workers, friends, and community to help Lars get through his delusion.
Grade: B+
#342 -- Wild Things
A high school counselor is framed by two of his students for the crime of rape, but with dozens of twists and turns along the story line: obviously nothing is as it seems.
Grade: C
#343 -- A Knight's Tale
Heath Ledger plays a peasant who reinvents himself as a fearless knight bent on winning tournament championships, riches, and love.
Grade: C+
#344 -- Pan's Labyrinth
Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) escapes her cruel reality by creating a world of fantasy and magic. In this fantasy world she is able to escape her savage stepfather, but she often finds herself facing numerous perils of her own in a quest for immortality.
Grade: A-
