@ErickPS4 I don't agree with you, but i can absolutely understand where you're coming from. I feel the exact same way about RE6 when 9/10 other people loved it. Reboots are rough for us enthusiasts who hold dear to the classic titles in a series that are still clearly better. I thought it was good, but not the best. I still hold TR2 in the highest regard. I do however agree with the exploration, felt too linear for an open world game at times, and the tombs were SERIOUSLY lacking.

After playing games like resident evil 6, i had given up hope on expecting anything good, when it comes to major genre overhauls to the classic games ive loved for so long. Though i met this game with much anticipation, much like metal gear rising as well, it was mostly negative anticipation. That being said, once i played this game, much like metal gear rising again, it completely convinced me that genre overhauling in games can be done right, and reboot isnt exclusively a dirty word. very very impressed. more of an action game than traditional TR titles for sure, but maintained enough of the desirable elements from the originals. Ive been a TR fan since the beginning, besides that i tend to greet ANY reboots with initial skepticism. I was made a fool by this title. I truly havent been so enamored in a game since the late 90's when zelda ocarina of time came out, which ironically enough i actually saw this game as TR meets zelda in a lot of instances. its been a great first quarter this year for games, TR tops the list for me, its on my top 5 best games of this generation list easily. fantastic game all around. i gave it a 9. I just hope capcom is taking some notes from the likes of this masterpiece when it comes to making big changes in gameplay to games like RE. This is how its done.

This game is bad. no other way to put it. i agree with the review on most levels. not only is it bad as a resident evil game, its just a bad game. The current generation of games has in my opinion held the crappiest catalog of games i have ever seen, and games like this contribute the most. I am at the point now where i'd much rather spend my time playing "outdated" games, as the quality of gameplay was much better. I for one as a gamer hold no value to graphical capability compared to the gameplay quality of a game, so graphics don't even have a place in my critique of games. call me names, call me an outdated gamer, oh well, i don't care. As long as people give such massive praise to games that hold now real value, based off of minor gimmicks and improvements from others in the same genre, or the games that came before it, instead of praising games that really raise the bar and hold originality, they will continue to produce garbage that is essentially the same as games that are similar. COD being the best example. i lost interest after modern warfare 2, as in reality its not really anything new. Same games over and over, with a new title and new packaging. It is a matter of opinion, and as a longtime gamer i respect all the opinions of gamers, but its getting sad in the gaming industry, as true quality continues to go downhill. As for all you people that are saying "well go play an old resident evil game then you outdated gamer", all i have to say is i've already done that, and will most likely continue to until major changes are made in the industry. I remember when every now and again you ran into a truly bad game, which is bound to happen. Nowadays, 9 out of 10 current generation games that i play i mostly feel sheerly bored and tired of the same formula. I consider myself a retro gamer, not because of what people believe is just "nostalgia", but because games before this time truly were of a better standard, namely becaue they didnt have the high definition graphical capability of modern games that draw in the highly prevailent younger gaming crowd. im not saying that as stereotyping, but out of personal experience. If i only had a nickel for everytime ive hear someone dismiss a truly great game because "the graphics suck" or "it looks outdated" i'd be rich. like i said, just my opinion, and i respect everyone elses, especially those whos opinions are based on substance and not graphics, whether they agree with me or not. I've ranted long enough, but im just tired of this happening over and over again. Resident evil is dead folks. Good production of video games as a whole are not too far behind.
