*SPOILER ALERT*
Just played through the demo, here are my thoughts:
1) As I suspected, holding R2 to walk is a nuisance. It's just another button to press for no reason. This would instantly take a whole point off of my overall rating, as it's asinine.
2) I also did not like how at times there was no correlation between the actions taking place and the buttons you press to progress a sequence. As the detective writhing my way behind a dumpster, I shouldn't have to press three buttons. I thought to myself: "There aren't three actions, so why am I pressing three buttons?"
3) Combat was impressive. I found it surprisingly fun and engaging for this sort of game. Even if you fail to press a button once, you are then entered into a different sequence, where you still have a chance to dominate. Overall, a fun experience there.
4) As the detective on the crime scene, while leaving, I thought "so if this is all I have to see, then why am I walking my ass back to my car?". There were no cutscenes or anything at ALL while I walked my way back from finishing the CSI. What a waste of a minute and a half, the scenario should have ended as soon as I got up from investigating the body. Also, the fact that you can perform multiple actions ( like starting your ignition or getting back out of your car) should be labeled. If they wanted to make this like a movie, then why would they give me the option to get back out of my car when all I'm going to do is get in again and end the scene?
Thanks for listening.
did you not go over the railroad tracks and up the slippery embankment and use the glasses too scan up there . . . think also if you dont get the answer you want you can go back and sorta redo it till you get the info you require[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]

The only thing that I thought could be handled better were the walking controls. Apart from that, I really like the way they use combinations of buttons and analogue stick movements and the way they try to match them to what your character does on-screen. I don't see it as being much different than using the stick to throw various punches in FNR3/4.
It's much different
IN a game like Fight Night you don't have various commands pop up that involve everything from tapping a button, pressing a button, pressing a series of buttons, pressing a series of buttons but keep them all depressed, pointing the thumbstick in various directions that don't correspond to the action happening on the screen and last but not least shaking the controller.
Almost nothing in the game corresponds to what the character is doing, it's all so random that it takes you out of the game and it's story
It isn't all random in the slightest. Maybe in the fight scene not everything matches perfectly, but there's definitely a correlation between the buttons you push and the action of your character for a lot of it. Look at the way you move the stick for things like knocking on the door, or leaving your money on the table. You use that action on the right stick to move your right hand, just like you would to throw an uppercut in FN. Yeah, you don't get the prompts in FN but the way you execute it is quite similar. Even in the GT review they mention that they do a good job of matching the commands to the actions.
agreed when you was the agent climing up the muddy slope the buttons are awkward to mimic the dificulty of climbing up a slippery slope like "gripping" with your feet it felt too me and then near the top when it switches to R2 he sort of slips and grabs with his hand
