Yea it is called 1080p. And make sure you are playing a blu-ray on a high definition TV not standard.
Here's a few tips.
On XMB go toats Settings. Then make sure Cross Color Reduction is off, RGB Full Range (HDMI) limited, and Y/pb/cb pr/cr Super-White (HDMI) is on. That's what mine is set to.
my 60gb's hard drive overheated a little over a year after I got it. My other friend got a 60gb couple days b4 mine and his died a couple weeks after mine did. We both sent them to Sony and they replaced them. But my other friend has a 20gb he got at launch and his is running fine. Luck of the draw I guess.
All you gotta do is call Sony and you pay for it to get shipped to them and they fix it. You get it back in like 8 to 10 days. Cuz I bought a 60GB a while back and it broke after the warranty so I payed 150 to get it fixed.
