[QUOTE="bigguns"][QUOTE="Nedemis"]

[QUOTE="bigguns"]link? you my be able to detect something moving at 100 frames per second but it will not be very clear. it would be like having your tv produce 99 frames of white then one of a picture. all your gonig to see is like a blip on the screen u will not be able to tell what it was, only that something came upNedemis

you seriously don't even know what you're talking about, do you? Just because something runs at 60fps (even 100fps) does not mean that it will go by on the screen faster then if it were running at 24fps. In fact, the image would be cleaner, crisper and far more recognizable when compared to 24fps. Think about this.....24fps means an object (like a jet) would travel from one side of the screen to the other in 1 second with only 24 single frames to display the image. Now take that same image and give it double (or even 4x) as many frames in that same second. Please think about that before you post again.

dude i could care less if we see at 24 frames, we dont even see in frames but what in trying to get across is that if u were to film something with a camera then it would need to be around 24 frames to look the same as real life. that's why if you move your hand across your face really fast it becomes blured. if i could see at a faster rate or which i should say if our brains could process the information quicker i would see a clear image of our hands moving.

no you wouldn't.....blur is all dependent on speed and not in fps. Again....we don't see real life in fps...it's not as if our eyes have a shutter speed and limit what rate we see things at.

dude did u even read what i i said go back and read it.

The point is, we're not saying MGS4 won't be smooth. We're saying that the eye can perceive more than 24FPS, something which you stated as fact.

I've no doubt MGS4 will look smooth, but I'm sticking that the eye can perceive over 24FPS.

jonnyt61

dude ok our eyes can see over 24 frames but it does not mean that what ever your seeing will be clear with out blur that's what i should of said to avoid confusion. like Nagidar said in his post the faster u move in real life the more faster u need to see to make out thing clearly. and what i said about having the game in 30fps i was talking about mgs4 not quake or what ever u play because its a slower paced game . and for the record no GAME should ever be at 24 frames it will have jerkiness that u can see.

[QUOTE="The_Game21x"]

[QUOTE="beinss"]Idk about the resolution but MGS4 will be running at 30fps. It was going to be 60fps but they added motion blurring which they had to sacrafice the fps. But your eyes can only see 30fps so why bother with anything higher? Certainly tho, MGS4 wont be running at 526P At the very least im saying 720pNagidar

Incorrect. The human eye can detect over 100 frames per second.

yay someone that know what there talking about. mgs4 is not a super fast racing or fps so 30 frames locked would create a smooth-ness that would be respectable

The human eye can percieve more than 24 FPS based on how fast images are moving.

Example: Playing a racing game and accelerating to 20 MPH, look at the background, it passes by smooth, but when you accelerate to 100+ MPH, you start seeing dips in the backgrounds movement. Which is why alot of games use motion blurring to cover it up.

http://loot-ninja.com/2007/04/29/video-comparison-24fps-vs-60fps/

This turned up after a quick search.
From what I can understand, you're saying they need to put more Frames in to make something seem smoother, but if I can't see the frames, then why would t matter?

From that video, I can clearly see a dfference between the 24FPS and 60FPS.

jonnyt61

dude your getting annoying what u see in life is about 24 frames per second . that the speed that your eyes see at. and yes like i said before this would make the game all jerky. OK man. LIKE i said in my FIRST post. but like i said also in my first post is that mgs4 is not a super fast paced game like quake or ut2007 so being locked at 30 frames would at least run the game at a smooth-ness that is respectable.

we are fighting over the speed at which our eyes see at ffs like i care that we only see at 24.

I'm sorry, but that didn't make any sense to me.
It seems like you're saying what I'm seeing is the animation as opposed to the higher FPS?

A quick google search highlighted a fair few sites, saying the Human Eye can perceive 70+ FPS, at least. I'm more inclined to agree with the google link, seeing as to see a difference between 30FPS and 60FPS, would mean I'd need to be able to perceive it, I'd imagine.

Nagidar

No, you're not understanding, the human eye sees "smooth" motion at 24 FPS, BUT, when an image is moving extremely fast, you have to boost the FPS so the human eye can see it as "smooth".

thank u for explaining it to him.
