Managing Life and Gaming

Well, hiya! I don't have a freaking clue about what I should tell you all. They call me Big O (from American Pie, not that damn cartoon...although the "showtime!" thing is fun whenever I go on a rampage while playing Counter Strike: Source. But that's only in the gaming world. In the real world, they call me Le Mont. That's right..."The Mountain." I belong to a clan called KOD (Kings of Destruction) and we do all right, though we just got set up recently.

I'm a relatively new gamer, depending on how you look at it. I have my pops to thank for my gaming addiction. He's always been facinated by gadgets, and so we have had Pong, Atari, NES and SNES in our house. I love Pong. And, yes, I'm old enough to have played Pong with the original controler. Then there was the hiatus. It lasted for eight years! The first game I played when I came out of my retirement was Half-Life, and I was forever hooked on the FPS for computer. My console gaming didn't pick up again until January of 2005, when I got my Playstation 2. That was a good day. And I've played some GREAT games.

Lately I've been all about CS: S, but it's becoming difficult to find time to play. I've recently realized my lifelong ambition (almost destiny) is to be a teacher. Unfortunately, this means more school. Now, between school, work, and my wife, my computer and my console are gathering dust...and I don't mean the map, Dust. My clan misses me (sort of) and I miss playing online with my crew. I find some time to play on weekends no matter what, even if it makes my wife mad. I know I'm going to be a gamer for the rest of my life, but I don't relish the idea of only being able to play "on the side."
