Hey guys, I'm finally getting around to fixing my old PS2, Version 4, and I know for a fact that the only thing wrong with it was the ribbon cable connecting the reset/eject buttons to the main board was broken, so I just ordered a new one. Is it easy to install? Any special steps needed to hold it in place such as soldering? I'm also posting this in the legacy board. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you knocked a button on your TV remote like the zoom or another display adjusting button?BlackendV
Nope.
I'll try these last couple suggestions later and see if they work.
[QUOTE="bigredjaw"][QUOTE="Koneesha"]You have your PS3 to display at 1080p only. For certain games the 1080p shrinks the game and you then get the black boxes. SO set your ps3 to display at all the resolutions your TV will take and you will be fine.Koneesha
I don't have it set to display at 1080p only though, in the setup screen all resolutions are checked off. And I know it works correctly because when theres a shift in resolution my TV takes a few seconds to accept the change and tells you what resolution it's now displaying. So it goes from the 1080p of the XMB to the 720p of the game smoothly. What puzzles me is that the game has always displayed correctly up to today and now it suddenly changes...
hmmmm. Thats odd. Are you sure the settings didn't change? I am pretty sure there is no settings for the video like that in the game.I'm positive the setting didn't change, and no, there isn't any video option like that in the game itself. Very weird.

I have my PS3 connected to a HDTV using HDMI, never experienced any problems with resolution or display, everything works great. All my games are correctly displayed except 1, MLB 09: The Show. For some strange reason whenever I start the game up the picture does not fill up the screen entirely. There is a black boarder around the whole picture now, and this never was a problem until recently. I swear the resolution is slightly lower too and movents dont seem as smooth! I looked all over the game settings for some sort of setting that could have gotten changed by accident, as well as system settings, but everything seems to be in order. And again this is the only game that it happens to. Weird. Any ideas?
