I love bill gates, the mans a genius and Microsoft is the greatest company in history. no question about it. i mean i own an xbox, xbox 360, a zune, and i eagerly anticipate every windows product. now being such a loyal microsoft fanboy (yes i admit i am a 360 fanboy) i have been there with microsoft since the beginning. i am an early adopter and so i bought an xbox 360 at launch. i love my 360 but over the past few years that i had it, microsoft has done nothing but suck the life out of me. heres why. bought a 360 at launch for $500. RROD within 2 weeks. at the time the problem was still largely unknown and they were sorting it out. it took me 1 month and a half to get it back. later on. microsoft releases the 360 elite with its 120gb hardrive. talk about screwing the people who bought it at launch. my hardrive is now full and i have to constantly delete things to make room. my 360 scratches my gears of war disc and renders it unusable. microsoft says it wasnt the 360s fault and it must have been mine. i am forced to buy a new copy. halo 3 launches, 360 rrod a week b4 launch. i get it back in 3 weeks. being a huge halo fan, i have to wait 2 weeks to play it. and microsoft sent me back a console clearly not mine, as it has marks on it. i purchase a month of xbox live. month ends, and they renew it on my credit card without my permission. i try to cancel it a day after, they say its too late. i cancel my auto renewal and for some reason it happens again for a 3rd month after which i called and cleared it up but i still had to pay for the 3rd month. halo wars launches. current day. my 360 rrod a week b4 launch (coincidence?) turns out microsoft now makes me pay for my own box and i have to send it in myself. they delivered it within a week and 2 days but they tried at 11 in the morning on a weekday. im not home so now i have to pick it up at hour away location. still not able to play halo wars. and it doesnt end there. there are many minor things about their service. for example i went through all the stuff on thier help line (5 minutes) and waited 5 more to be connected to a tech guy and they hung up on me. no lie. gaming is supposed to be fun and relaxing. the thing i turn to at the end of the day to take a break. instead, microsoft is torturing me. despite all this, I continue to support microsoft because the 360 is damn awesome, problems aside and the games r awesome. so i forgive you microsoft. but sometimes, i wish they were a bit like sony.
