Awesome. FF in 2d sucked. FF in 3d sucked. Maybe FF in 4d will rule?

I've tried and tried to like FF games. I respect the fact that they generally receive great reviews and a lot of people love them, but to me they are just a bunch of CGI with hours and hours of repetative menu combat. If you've played one, you've played them all.

LMAO at this. Games that have happened >>>> than games that haven't yet. A % of the PS3 games will be delayed until 2009, another % will flop, and some will be ported to 360.

Call it what you like. On Metacritic and Gamerankings, it's not AAA. I don't own a PS3. Does this game make me want a PS3? No. I've already played it to death. Twice. If I had a PS3 and someone gave me Sigma for free I still wouldn't play it. The world has been there and done that. Twice.

GS is my favorite single site for reviews, but I make purchasing decisions based upon Gamerankings or Metacritic. I rarely disagree with Gamerankings or Metacritic. Any one reviewer will always have a few questionable reviews.

As for the new rating system, it actually makes a lot more sense. Averaging the ratings of graphics, sound, etc doesn't make sense because is sound as important as graphics? Is graphics as important as gameplay? A game is the sum of it's parts, and how those parts work together determine the quality of a game. The .5 scale system as 20 different rankings for games. The other system had 100. How on earth can you decide if a game should be an 87 or an 86 if you don't average something? As I already mentioned, averaging doesn't make sense

FF is a great example of drawing games out. It's amazing how it can take 40 hrs to finish XII, but you can tell the story in 5 minutes.

I can't understand is how a console withNO good games some how has more variety than a console loaded with AAA's.

Sony is all about smoke and mirrors, and it works. Everyone who has bought a PS3 has either bought it for bluray, or for games that haven't happened yet. Games that get hyped as "4D" and ultimateunbelievable this and that and then flop.

Funny how current 360 games are constantly being compared to PS3 games that haven't happened yet. For the record, something that exists >>>> than something that doesn't.

Halo3 vs KZ2, Forza 2 vs GT5, etc.

Games are supposed to get better. Better graphics, better sound, better control, etc. The GOTY contenders (AAA's, etc) do something better than the others...THEY EXCEED EXPECTATIONS. This is why Heavy Sword got average reviews. It did not exceed expectations.

As for RPG's and length? Oblivion. I played that for over 150 hrs, and there's plenty of areas I didn't explore. It alsolooked fantastic, had great voice acting, etc at the time. Hence Oblivion won GOTYawards.

Sony and the herd hype everything on the PS3 too much (the cell and it's whoping floping performance). But since Blue Dragon was 3 disks, that's 3 disks of epic flopage. God I hate JRPG's. Let's see there's already a dozen too many FF reruns, and people get excited about an FF rerun knock off?

"but teh story." I can read a good book or watch a movie with a story anyday w/o dealing with menu's and killing the exact same 3 bad guys a million times.
