... Ok, first all of the numbered Final Fantasys have been made in order. Final Fantasy I came out in North America for the NES in 1990. Unfortunatly we skipped out on II and III at the time because Square decided to only release those 2 games in Japan. Once the SNES came out we were given Final Fantasy 4, which at that time was known as Final Fantasy II in North America. Final Fantasy V and VI (III and IV in NA) were also released on the SNES. (By the way Final Fantasy 6 is my favorite you should definetly try it out! :)). For the PS1 Square released Final Fantasy 7 which was none as 7 in both North America and Japan. Also on the PS1 were Final Fantasy 8 and 9. For the PS2 we were given Final Fantasy X, X-2, XI, and XII.
I'm not sure how many Final Fantasys you have played but if you are looking to play some of the earlier ones that you may have missed and you don't have a NES or SNES then this is the system I recommend you play it on. Final Fantasy I & II - PSP, Final Fantasy III - DS Final Fantasy IV - DS, Final Fantasy V - GBA, Final Fantasy VI - GBA.
Sorry if I said lots of things that you already knew.
One more thing! Since you obviously liked Crisis Core, I highly recommend another Final Fantasy spin off - Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.
No, it's a error, the Demo for the game doesn't even come out in Japan until March 2009 which you get if you purchase Advent Children Complete for the Blu Ray.
