I bought my DS cause I like the mario games (mario kart, New super mario brothers) and I still play New Super Mario brothers two years later. I bought the PSP because I liked what could be done with it, the only thing i've been doing with the PSP lately is looking for wireless networks. I got the first Socom for it, but i just didnt like it because it was another scaled down PS2 game. I really really wanted to like the PSP but over two years later and that one great game still hasnt come out for it....and doesnt look like it ever will.
The psp sucks because it has NO games. I bought it first week hoping for a good game to come out and...nothing. I have a couple games but I've had my DS like a year and half longer and have played it so much more (not so much lately since the couple of good games I have for it I have conquered). It could of been great, but all the games seemed like cheap ports of the PS2 and scaled down PS3 ports.
I know your MTU is in your router, if your router is set to not transmit like 8800 live wont let you on (I think thats how they keep dial up connections off) My buddy had the same problem and he had to get a new router, its possible that the guys that are already set up are on a different router in the dorms which is why they can get on. If your friends with any of them I would take your 360 to their room and hook it up and see if your live will work then.
Of course whenever Gamespot does a comparision to the ps3 and 360, the 360 looks better 90% of the time. I know your going to say thats because they havent been able to make them look as good as they can but when is this magical line going to be crossed? Plus how do you know the 360 is maxed out on graphics too? I guess hardware wise there about the same (excluding the cd drive). They might look different but the hardware is almost the same in the two systems.

I could see if microsoft did a promotion, buy 4 arcade games get one free. But giving you something because you "earned" it by playing it all the time sounds stupid. Sure it sounds good to someone that plays the game, but from a business stand point its a terrible idea. Who would pay for the game you get for free? The company that made the 360 game, microsoft, or the arcade maker game?
The hard truth is that nothing in life is free. I could see maybe if they charged an extra ten bucks a year for it. You could either pay the 50 a year for regular live, or you could pay 60 a year for free stuff after you earn achievment points that way they could get some money from you for "earning" the free stuff.
