@itsnota2mer: There's some pretty compelling evidence that they lifted 3D models straight from Pokemon and modified them for Palworld. Other monster collection games don't do this. They might be pretty screwed.
@wbrabbit: 1,723,000 player average a day. It's certainly "universally loathed", champ. What are you doing responding to a year-old comment? Nothing better going on in your life?
@majikayo666: This is literally nonsense. They received the backlash, they didn't receive the money, they continued to work on the game to fix their mistake, they fixed their mistake, and now it's a game worth the money.
If I make something, let's say a wooden chair, and I say "Will you buy this?" and someone says no, it's not good enough, and I go back and put time and work into it until it is what someone will buy, I have done the work necessary to make that sale. It is literally no different.
You act like people were forced into buying a broken game with no refunds. They got refunds. The backlash was widely known, and anyone who bought the game knew what they were getting into after that. People were angry because the game was not what was promised. No one lost anything. Their trust may have been broken, but no harm was done. Now CDPR has rebuilt that trust by creating a game worth playing.
They didn't kill your dog, dude. They released a buggy game which they have now fixed. Get over yourself. You're not some beacon of morality wronged by some great evil.
