Will Sony's long support for PS3 have a bad impact on PS4?

I have seen a lot of complains of people saying the PS4 didn't get enough quality exclusives as the Xbox One, but when you think about it, pretty much all of the sony big guns are still working on PS3 projects.

Naughty is about to release The Last of Us, Quantic Dream (that only did a comic demo) is still working on Beyond : Two Souls. Sony is making Gran Turismo 6 for the ps3..

Of course, we got to see for example infamous, killzone, etc... but people had already seen them, so no surprises there.

I can't help myself wonder if this will have an impact on PS4 sales? If they should have just released GT6 for ps4 to compete with Forza 5, told Quantic and Naughty Dog to hold on to their games to release as a ps4 title to compete for example with dead rising 3, killer instinct and quantum break.

I think for gamers, what sony did was right, it's still supporting it's current console and bringing some new stuff to PS4. But for undecided gamers, big guns like a Halo appearance, Forza 5, killer instinct and stuff like that, might take them to the xbox one route.

It's pretty clear sony hasn't shown us it's true potential, a lot of franchises are still tba, and any gamer should see it, i am buying a ps4 with no second thought, i won't support a DRM filled console, but i think it might affect their sales in the beginning for choosing that route.

Or do you think it was it a smart move to keep people interested in the ps3 and ps4 at the same time?

Ball is in your court, Sony.

So, with all the confirmations about xbox one, pretty much everyone is looking foward to what sony has to say to the same subjects.

Wii U has given us an outdated hardware that lacks third party support but still, no online required, backwards compatible and no hassle about used games.

Xbox One is showing a weaker system than PS4 but not so much, the 360 has a weaker overall system than the ps3 and it runs just fine. But they gave us a LOT of deal breakers before even E3. Some won't buy because of the kinect always on, others won't because you need constant internet connection, others because you can't share your games freely like you used to with your past-gen system.

Pretty much everything sony has to do now is say: "We will not require the cam to be connected and we will not require any online requirement."

Without any internet requirement it will set the games free from DRM, companies might still use online passes, but overall you will still be able to lend a friend a game so he can play the single-player mode without any problems.

I am truly scared that sony will not do this and will bend over and require some kind of online check, but if they want to win this next-gen, just mantain your focus on the games and do it the regular way, without any online requirement and that bullshit that no one wants. Even if those things don't affect you (my internet is solid, probably won't go off more than a day, and some people just buy all their games digital) just think about how you are letting a company control the market, instead of the consumer, vote with your wallet.

Sony, please listen to the rage of the costumers about xbox one, and there you go, a free pass to win the next console race, otherwise... *sigh* Wii U, here I go...
