Wow! It has been a long time since I posted! Almost a year now. That is one thing that I HATE about blogs. If you don't regularly post, you completely forget that you have a blog. I used to post all of the time but it just fell into disrepair. Alot has happened in a years time. I have learned to play the guitar, broke 20K gamerscore, my xbox broke, my xbox broke, my xbox broke, I got an Ipod touch, and so much other stuff that would take me forever to name. I guess I will just cover the MAIN points
I have learned to play the guitar. One might say, "You mean Guitar Hero?" I reply by telling them to go get a life. Nothing makes me more mad than people who think that. Just because you can push 5 different colored buttons in rapid succession does NOT mean you can play guitar. They are NOTHING alike. Guitar hero is a great game. I will be the first to say that i thoroughly enjoy Guitar Hero, but I would never compare it to real guitar. You see that plastic controller that you paid a $100 for? How much do you think it cost to produce? By the looks of it, probably about $10 in a sweatshop in the basement below Activision studios. You know how much a REAL Gibson guitar is worth? It is worth every penny it costs. It is hand made by people who know guitars. It is a piece of art. My ES335 is worth 7Grand. It is a quality instrument. My Gibson eats plastic controllers like yours for breakfast (not to mentions Yamaha acoustics and Fender Strats). I have nothing against Guitar Hero, I just think they need a disclaimer/side effect label on the box, just like a medicine bottle. It needs to say, "WARNING! May cause hallucinations of their own ability to play guitar. If you experience these effects, break the controller over your knee and bite the disk in half. Then see a doctor." Next topic!
Gamerscore. Yes. I am an achievement junkie. I just love that little ,"Ding" noise that pops up. Well I have broken 20k! Do I get something? Anything? A pat on the back? No? $#!*!! Seriously. There is something wrong with this system. Shouldn't you get something? I mean a free avatar shopping spree at the very least. Alas, no. Microsoft has screwed us yet again (I will get back to that issue next paragraph). I mean, gamerscore makes games that would otherwise become bland and boring stay off of the shelf where they would be collecting dust. I am sure that they make more money off of crappy games because of gamerscore than the publicity that Tom Cruise gets just because he is a Scientologist. Now I am not bashing Scientologists, they are fine in my book. Freedom of religion is awesome. Tom Cruise on the other hand, needs to curl up in a corner and die anyway. Oh and Mr. Cruise? If you ever read this (how ever small of a chance that might be), me and my friends have a bet. I am going to ship you a paper bag. If you could please act your way out of it, it would settle a lot of disputes. Oh sorry, I guess I got a bit distracted there. Seriously though, we need a reward system.
Broken Xbox. My Xbox has broken 3 times since I last posted. They have made mor money off of me than Tom Cruise made off of Valkyrie. That is an old school zinger right there! Burned! But seriously I hate Tom Cruise. You know he built a bunker in his back yard? Well he did. I hate him! Off topic again. Bill Gates. Go die. Oh, but give me my money back first.
Next topic. The Beatles Rockband. This game looks amazing. Now I respect other peoples tastes for music, but if you don't like the Beatles, you need to go die. Not seriously, but in a figurative way. They are the most amazing musical geniuses since the Geico caveman when he spun the first phat hip-hop beat. If you are going to buy any music game, buy this one. I am buying it just so I can sing to the music. The Beatles are one of the few timeless bands. They won't ever be forgotten. I actually seen two of the Beatles live in concert. I have seen Ringo Star, and about 3 weeks ago, saw Sir. Paul McCartney live in Atlanta. Boy he was amazing. He was sporting his lefty 1959 sunburst Les Paul. A sight to behold, indeed. Even If you don't like the Beatles, I hope that you will at least rent the game and maybe you will change your mind and really start to like the Beatles. who can forget songs like Help and Let It Be. This band defined a generation. Be open guys. They were amazing. Some may argue, "Well, why didn't they just make a track pack for them? They are just trying to take more of our money!" Well, you are right about one thing. Game producers are trying to take your money. That is why they make games. They are game PRODUCERS! It is their job. Every game they make has the purpose of taking your money. Where you are wrong is that they deserve more than a track pack. The Beatles DESERVE a game to themselves. It is a tribute to them. This is harmonix most thought out game yet! They had Paul McCartney and Ringo Star come in and help make the game. They were consultants on the game. So was George Martin. For those of you who do not know who George Martin is, he is one of the main men behind the Beatles. All of those beautiful orchestral backgrounds were organised by him. They have unique backgrounds in the game. The game has a THEME! It has a purpose. A purpose other than to make money. Paul McCartney made sure of this. It is the story behind one of histories most influential bands. They made sure to make it good. It will be good.
This is where I say peace out. If anyone reads this, I say to you, thanks.
