blazingsaddle95's FAVORITE Films of All Time #45-41

Well, it's time for more of my movie mayhem. And if you read this, please leave a comment, I only got 19 on the last one :(. So let's not waste any time, here are are my 45th-41st favorite movies of all time.

It's amazing that a movie about a giant gorilla who fights dinosaurs and then wrecks havoc on New York City while falling in love with a woman is considered to be a great movie. But in truth, it really is. The original King Kong was really something incredible when it was first released. No one had ever seen special effects like this at the time. This was to them what Avatar is to us, a visual breakthrough that guaranteed to grab your attention. And it still does today. But one of the things that I trulyappreciate about King Kong is how much devotion the effects team put into making Kong and the dinosaurs. They went through so much work to make King Kong what it is today, that you can't help but tip your hat to them. It's a shame that studios seem to think that remaking King Kong is a good thing. It's not. It's a cla$$ic movie that shouldn't be done again. Although I have to admit that Peter Jackson's 2005 remake wasn't half bad.

In all honesty, there isn't really anything special about this movie. It's pretty much just an hour and a half long episode of the TV series. But that's what makes it a compelling movie, it's an hour and a half long episode of the TV series. It's not really and episode of the show, seeing as Mask of the Phantasm was released in theatres, but it's not a whole lot different from that show. But the reason why this is one of my favorite movies is because it's technically a kid's movie, but it's really dark and intense. And it dives into the mind of Batman to see more of why Bruce Wayne is doing this. This is one of those movies where you're not going to like it that much unless you're a fan of the source material, being Batman: The Animated Series. Is it a great movie? No. But it's very entertaining, and easily deserves the title of my 44th favorite movie of all time.

I've already talked about this movie before, so this isn't gonna be very long. I'll just say that it's Chaplin's most touching movie while still being very funny. And in terms of how well it's made, this is probably his best, however it's not quite my favorite.

It's kind of strange that what I personally think is the greatest war film ever made, has barely any action scenes until the last thirty minutes.Which is a long time seeing as this movie is about three hours long. But I love the whole thing. The Bridge On The River Kwaiputs sort of a different twist on World War II movies. We're used to seeing WWII movies set in Germany or France about soldiers fighting on the front lines of the European campaign. But this movie takes us to the other side of war over in Japan wherewe follow a regiment of captured Allied soldiers (mainly British) who are forced to build a bridge for Japanese supply trains to come through. It has a really interestingstory and some great characters as well. And it also has one of the catchiest whistling tunes of alltime as it's theme music.

Yeah, this is where it really proves to be a "favorites" list and not a "greatest" list. But in all honesty, I love this movie. Ithink it's a visual masterpiece, the characters are great, the action scenes are cool, and it's just a really fun action movie. You're probably never going to see this again on a list with City Lights and Bridge On The River Kwai, so soak it all in. Unless it's a "which movie doesn't belong kind of list". I might lose some of you by having this on here above Casablanca and The Iron Giant, but hey, this is MY favorite movies list. I just always have a great time watching this. And if you have a Blu-Ray player, this is amust watch. It looks incredible from start to finish.
