@P00DGE: That’s a fantastic way to divert from the topic and go all ad hominem in your desperation. We are all a specific audience at the end of the day. I like what I like. Godfather is still excellent. Blade Runner still makes money to this day. But if you want to choose a measurement of success then I’ll let you decide that. That won’t deviate from the MCU’s declining box office sales. I don’t decide that. The public do.
@P00DGE: That was the effect I was hoping for. Trying to expand upon your ignorant world view. You could do with a Holiday.
My language contains grammar because it is English. Apologies if that perturbed you. The declining box office sales of the MCU since Endgame will always be accessible for as long as it disgruntles you.
@P00DGE: How is Spider-Man going to beat the sales of Dune? You think Tarm Harland has the serious skillz of Tim Cham? Ridiculous! Zandeya has made her choice. She requires sophistication within a world of soft, emasculated youths and at the age of 25, she doesn’t want to be surrounded by all that subordination. Where’s the dignity she requires? Is America going to isolate her deep, no-nonsense frowns forever? She’s already taken a trip to Europe and that’s all a Mouseketeer needs. Like it or lump it, the age of ageing man-children is finally ending.
@P00DGE: It’s useless when you’re ignorant of the global hype surrounding it, that’s for sure. Sticking to a formula will never survive within an Internet/Technical Age of society. It’s not our fault Triple X went in the crapper. My mum also doesn’t want to see Indy get his ass whooped by some woke teenager with an adversarial “legacy” prerogative. If Marvel want to adapt to the new age of cinema, they can no longer play it safe with cringe-dialogue and atrocious acting where the Black Widow actress is told to show genuine Fear against a raging Hulk in the first Avengers movie, only for it be seen as laughable in comparison to literally any other performance shown at the time. That was a long time ago now. That was 2012. Times have changed. Disney are destroying the longevity of the 20th Century’s two biggest franchises for a niche agenda nobody cares about except for a demographic of Americans unable to see what they’re progressing in to. Recent box office sales show this. But it’s the decline in merchandise which really show the dramatic decline of these once massive franchises. Like anybody independently minded, it just gets so boring, soft and mundane within the realm of a PG13 audience with new families that have access to all forms of entertainment. The MCU needs shaking up after the loss of it’s prestigious cast and if placating to a Chinese audience is the only solution they can creatively think of then that’s not my problem. We are all a specific audience at the end of the day so to water down a fifty year old franchise is futile in the face of the box office results of Dune and the spectacle is promises with it’s casting choices.
You seem to think the MCU has replaced character development when it hasn’t and it never will. People still love Robert Zemeckis’s Cast Away for that very reason. Most of the world don’t even watch awful television anymore so Disney need to re-adjust their marketing for the new era. If they want to communicate to a modern audience then they should try YouTube. Cinema always improved throughout each year of the 20th Century. Whereas film lovers have existed from Godfather to Pulp Fiction, from Fight Club to the weird and wonderful direction of The Matrix and it’s crazy-unique sequels. The difference between you and me is that you cowardly took the blue pill, which is how the Industry has maladjusted you into a world of watered-down entertainment. I am unplugged from your crazy school-totting nation. I see the code being written as it is typed. I am the Kwisatz Haderach and I see through all subterfuge. This awakening existed long before you were born and now a revolution is occurring within the broadness in which Disney cannot reach. Blame KK, not me. I’m not in charge of the mandate they’ve made for themselves. Most women hate it too. They also love Indy and Bond and they will never be so asinine as to believe a pretty Leon actress as a bully powerhouse god of smiting the skulls of all Jöttnar. We have stories within our cultures because we have actual historical heritage that’s important to the epical battles we in fact told.
Watch as America and China argue over the mundane elements of Shang Chi whilst everyone leaves it behind in favour of beautiful cinema returning to the big screen. Welcome… To Jurassic Park.
Keep your integrity Sony and allow Disney to work for you and not the other way around. These franchises still maintain a lot of potential, when given to the right content creator. Marvel fans will be looking for a creative outlet this decade.
@rodoxthedark: You should try out The Forest. Now that’s a game that respects your ability as a Gamer and iall it’s systems.
If you’ve ever had any interest in FromSoft games, I strongly recommend them too. I’m currently going up the Dark Souls III Ashes of Ariendel DLC and the amount of wolves calling each other down to attack me from the snowy mountain is just mental and so beautifully animated. It’s an incredible display of aesthetic beauty and personal peril.
@P00DGE: I use Black Widow as an example of declining sales because it’s based on YOUR logic and variables about franchise success. The evidence couldn’t be more clear.
We can revisit the fraction of profit from just ticket sales next month after Shang Chi and Dune. You’ll forget this entire discussion in a year’s time, as will I. Wherever time in the future you want to return to this debate, I will be here though. To tell you all about the international success of Dune in comparison to the overwhelming Chinese demographically orientated Shang Chi and The Ten Rings. Where did the ten rings come from? How were they made? Don’t know. Nor does it explain this in the movie. You’re more than welcome to stream it now and see for yourself. As always, I’ll let you decide on where quality matters. ;)
