So my math class has turned into a poem writing hour :? I never pay attention in class, because the teacher works straight from the book. By the book teachers are the most boring.

And, my zune battery died today while at work, so i was forced to listen to the radio. And a thought occurred to me. Why do all the lyrics have to deal with some sort of love/relationship/breakup/general whining?

Whatever happened to good lyrics, ones that really evoke emotion, ones that tell a story, ones that describe a scene, ones that make you think. Not saying that love song lyrics are all bad, but it seems like that's all bands play.

I guess its just me that thinks this, because I really like to listen to music for lyrics, listen for little nuances like hidden meanings and such. But that's what I like to do with a lot of writing, break it down, analyze it and think about it. And that's quite difficult to do with writings/songs that are pretty one sided, meant to be taken at face value.

But I have no real room to talk... my crap is pretty shallow, no hidden meanings, just groups of words and phrases that sound halfway decent together. maybe I can become a country singer... with death metal vocals :o :lol:
